Senior Vocal Recital

The Music Department presented a senior recital by soprano Smruti Shah, accompanied by pianist and harpsichordist Kee Mann Chang, cellist Catherine Best, guitarist Cindy Gorski, and recorder player Rebecca Leyon, at 7:30pm in Rubendall Recital Hall. Shah performed Alessandro Scarlatti's "Ho un'alma" and "Non mi Sprezzar"; Franz Schubert's "Lachen und Weinen", "Lied der Mignon", "Frühlingsglaube", and "Auf dem Wasser zu Singen"; Georges Bizet's "Le Matin", "Chanson d'Avril", and "Ouvre ton Coeur"; Thomas Morley's "It was a Lover and his Lasse"; John Wilson's "Take, O Take these Lips Away"; Philip Rosseter's "Sigh no more, Ladies"; Don Malin's arrangement of the traditional tune "The Willow Song"; Dominick Argento's "Dirge: Come Away, Death"; Geoffrey Bush's "Sigh no more, Ladies"; and Virgil Thomson's "Take, O Take these Lips Away" and "Sigh no more, Ladies".
