  • The Board of Trustees selected Gilbert Malcolm (class of 1915) as the 23rd President.
  • Charles F. Irwin Jr. (class of 1927) was elected president of the General Alumni Association.
  • Dr. Lewis H. Rohrbaugh (class of 1930) became Vice President of Boston University. 
  • Dr. Charles Law McCabe (class of 1943) became head of the department of metallurgical engineering at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh.
  • Dr. Robert W. Saunderson Jr. (class of 1942) was appointed Medical Director of the State Hospital for Crippled Children in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
