Brenner's invitation to a dinner in honor of Captain Mathews of the Steamer City of Glasgow as well as discusses Philadelphia's economic status in the United States. "I rejoice to percieve that Philadelphia is about to make a serious effort to obtain her just share of the foreign commerce of the Country," as Buchanan notes. Transcript included.
