The Dickinson branch of Boosting Alcohol Consciousness Among College and University Students (BACCHUS), an organization dedicated to alcohol education and preventing drunk driving, staged a mock accident on College Street during lunch hours. The event caused confusion and controversy for some students.
Friends of Mike Sutton, '74, organized a blood drive to help replenish blood stores after Sutton, a hemophiliac, required transfusions of 150 pints of blood over the course of a year. The drive was held in a bloodmobile parked outside Morgan Hall, the dormitory of Sutton and the organizers. Sutton's roommate, Bruce Davis, was involved.
The YWCA hosted a Mothers and Daughters Banquet in the Molly Pitcher Hotel on May 14, 1933. Elizabeth Hess, the YWCA president, served as toastmistress.
Professor C. R. W. Thomas, David Myers '32, Milton Flower '31, and Dorothy Myran '31 were in the cast of a play presented on Thursday and Friday at Carlisle high school by the Carlisle Women's Civic Club. The Dickinson Men's Glee Club also participated in the production.
The Carlisle Civic Club held its 6th annual show of art by modern painters in the YMCA room of Old West. The paintings were loaned by citizens of Carlisle. Painters featured in the show included Carl Lawless, Gertrude Masters, Ross Braught, and Elizabeth Washington.
The Dickinson freshman and varsity football games played alternate quarters in a football game against the Army Post, proceeds from which benefited the unemployed of Carlisle. Dickinson won the game 39-0.
