Doctor Reed gives year opening address.  German professor Dr. Prettyman to take a year off for study and travel.  Ladies of the class of 1913 host informal reception for the Sophomore men in Assembly Hall.  First meeting of Student Assembly held in Bosler Hall, addressed by Dr. Reed.  Plan to add subscription to The Dickinsonian to all students' bill proposed by President Clarkson and passed.  Sophomores successfully hang their poster, after a scrap with Freshmen.  Samuel Brown to temporarily replace Dr.

Dickinsonian, September 26, 1925

This week's issue of the Dickinsonian announces the elections of F. B. Giebel as president of the freshman class and Christopher P. Crook to the sophomore class. Football practice begins early in an effort to continue the path of last season's success. A committee of the Interfraternity Council presents their ideas for freshman involvement. In previous years, rushing agreements prohibited fraternity members to communicate with first year men; leading to a feeling of isolation from the rest of the campus.

Herbert Hoover leads the student straw poll on the presidential election. Sophomores keep their flag in the annual Flag Scrap. Mob of Carlisle residents and students threatens a Football official, Earle Killinger, after the game against Muhlenberg. The Dickinson Alumnus suggests moving John Dickinson's body to a burial spot closer to campus.

Dickinsonian, October 3, 1935

The College office and telephone switchboard office in Old West, the athletic office, and commuters' quarters in East College are revitalized for the new academic year. President Fred P. Corson speaks at chapel, announcing the plan for nondenominational services created with student input. The College Dance Band, Howard Gale and his Red and White Collegians, plays on station WHP in Harrisburg. Four freshman-sophomore scraps are planned: tug-of-war, flag, basketball, and baseball.
