Doctor Reed gives year opening address.  German professor Dr. Prettyman to take a year off for study and travel.  Ladies of the class of 1913 host informal reception for the Sophomore men in Assembly Hall.  First meeting of Student Assembly held in Bosler Hall, addressed by Dr. Reed.  Plan to add subscription to The Dickinsonian to all students' bill proposed by President Clarkson and passed.  Sophomores successfully hang their poster, after a scrap with Freshmen.  Samuel Brown to temporarily replace Dr.

Preview of Dramatic Club's production of "The Private Secretary". Beta Theta Pi holds informal dance and reception to welcome Dr. and Mrs. Prettyman. Dickinsonian Song Contest ends with fewer than desired entries. The Dickinson Equal Suffrage Club and an anti-suffrage club form.

Free Dickinsonian edition. Dr. Prettyman becomes president of Dickinson College. Recommendations for improvements on campus are made.

Forty-fifth Doll Show held at Dickinson College. Young People's Fellowship holds annual Christmas party. Little Theater gives two Christmas plays. President Prettyman awarded honorary degree of Doctor of Laws at commencement exercises at the University of Delaware.

The Athletic Association elects a new president, but protests the lack of publicity regarding the elections, blaming Student Senate for the poor turnout. The Biology department, under the leadership of Elmer Herber and the Mohler Scientific Club, presents three films relating to the study of cancer but are interdisciplinary. At the faculty meeting it is decided that preliminary examinations will be done away with beginning immediately to lessen the work for both students and their professors.

Inauguration of President William Wilcox Edel is planned. Former president C. William Prettyman dies from cardiovascular disease. Helen B. Norcross becomes dean of women. The Commons in the old gymnasium and the chemistry laboratory in the Tome Scientific Building are remodeled. Warren Spencer is elected Student Senate president. Sara Andrews becomes Student Senate secretary. John Alder Myers is elected Student Senate treasurer.
