Mohler Scientific Club organizes and elects officers. An optional course in music has begun and is offerred to all students of the college. Phi Kappa Sigma holds an anniversary hay ride to doubling gap. Men of West College hold a banquet held in the Y.M.C.A. reading room. The Dickinson baseball team defeats Gettysburg. The Musical Clubs held a concert at Boiling Springs. The Scientific Club holds a club banquet. The student body elects its Senators. Journalist and founding member of the NAACP Hamilton Holt gives a talk defending the League of Nations at chapel. Senate announces that, in light of the lack of support for the Honor System, amendments will be made and proposed to the student body. The Mohler Science Club elects officers. Local merchant Foster Cromleigh offers the choice of a fountain pen or gold pencil to the first Dickinsonian batter to hit a home run.

Dickenson looses against Bucknell and Penn State in the annual triangular debate. The 14th annual banquet of the Dickinson Alumni Association is held in Harrisburg. Coach McAndrews issues the first call for baseball hopefulls. The Dickinson basketball team takes a 33-25 victory over Gettysburg. The Drama Club will present "The Whole Town's Talking" on March 16th. The first annual Miami Triad Dance was held by Sigma Chi, Phi Delta Theta, and Beta Theta Pi fraternities. Motion pictures on the process of film-making were shown by the Mohler Scientific club.

The second annual Parents and Alumni Day is a great success. The Theta Chi fraternity has purchased 270 West High Street to be used as a fraternity home. The French Club plans to preform Moliere's "La Grammaire." Dr. Richard Burton delivered a lecture in chapel on the subject of "Modern Tendency in Drama." The football team takes Albright College in a 13 to 6 victory and prepares to meet their arch-rivals Gettysburg. Dickinsonians attend an east central Pennsylvania conference on the World Court. The College celebrates Halloween with a Dance.

Though casts as the underdog, the football team slays Villa Nova in a 13-2 victory.  The College plans a Halloween Party. First year / Fraternity plans are voted down again, with the next proposition being to hold a series of smokers. Professor Herbert Wing, Jr. Debating Coach at Dickinson, is elected president of the Pennsylvania State Debating Association. The American Irish Historical Society will hold an essay contest on "The Irish Chapter in American History." Dickinson's football team is praised by a Philadelphia Paper.

Thirty-four students will graduate from the Law School. Former Dickinson president writes history of the college to be revealed in October at the Sesquicentennial Celebration. Sesquicentennial Commencement Program included in this issue. Five alumni get honorary degrees. Library adds 3,000 new volumes. Editor for next year's Freshmen Handbook selected. Five fraternities created and published magazines this year. The Men's and Women's Glee Clubs gave a joint concert. The professors' summer plans are described. Ten students awarded honor of being chosen to join Phi Beta Kappa.

The Athletic Association elects a new president, but protests the lack of publicity regarding the elections, blaming Student Senate for the poor turnout. The Biology department, under the leadership of Elmer Herber and the Mohler Scientific Club, presents three films relating to the study of cancer but are interdisciplinary. At the faculty meeting it is decided that preliminary examinations will be done away with beginning immediately to lessen the work for both students and their professors.

Dickinson College observes Armistice Day with a program in the Chapel.  Professor Mohler prepares a demonstration of the effects of liquid air on plants and animals.  The Men's Senate requires that all students wishing to attend the upcoming football game take part in the parade to Biddle Field.  The Alumni makes their plans of holding the Homecoming football game and ceremonies in Carlisle in the following year are made known.

Professor J.F. Mohler leads the Scientific Club in studying the heavens via powerful telescopes.  Professor Leon C. Prince thanks the school band for their assistance in a campaign visit to Duncannon.  Senior William R. Smith and his Sigma Chi fraternity brothers direct traffic and return a deer to Mooreland Park after a blizzard on the previous Friday, April 27th.

The Dickinson Women’s Choir gives a performance of Handel’s Messiah at a local church. The Dramatic Club will present A Doll’s House at the end of January. A Professor of Surgery gives a talk on the causes of cancer to the Mohler Scientific Club. The basketball team is the first team to play against Roanoke in any sport. The Dickinson basketball team loses to Princeton.

Junior class, Class of 1943, elects president. Student Senate decides that Rushing will not occur during the summer session. the 169th Commencement. Approximately 120 students are enrolled for the summer session. the 1942 Microcosm comes out on time. Six high school seniors are awarded Trustee scholarships. Dean Vuilleumier heads Carlisle's Gas Defense Squad, a part of the Office for Civilian Defense. Two Dickinson graduates will face each other in the Congressional race in Wilke-Barre and the winner of this election will succeed another Dickinsonian. Six Dickinson students enlist in the US Naval Air Corps Reserve and will begin to form the Dickinson unit under the "V-5" program.

Colonel Mathews brought in to teach the 'Pre-Induction Training Courses." Two Dickinson graduates begin aviation training. Dr. Landis, professor of Mathematics, dies. College staff member, George Shuman Jr, asks alumni for old issues of the Freshmen Handbook. A national survey discovers that fraternity members have higher grad averages than non-fraternity members.

Lambda Sigma Pi elects eight new members. Union Philosophical Society to discuss "war aims" in their next meeting. A Student Opinion Surveys of America poll reveals that three of every five women are volunteering with civilian defense activities, but less than three of ten men, not already in the Armed Services, are helping with defense duties. Mid-Winter Ball was attended by 130 couples or 260 students. Three seniors elected to join Phi Beta Kappa.

The theme for the Mid-Winter Ball will be George Washington's birthday. Eight new members initiated into Phi Delta Theta. Five professors were among the 107 people that registered for the Armed Forces at Dickinson's third registration day. Kappa Sigma initiates five new members as Phi Mu initiates two. Rushing comes to a close for the fraternities. This week's Student Opinion Surveys of America poll debates the issue of the availability of alcohol near army camps.
