Professor Ernest A. Vuilleumier devises a new method to prove the accuracy of chemical analysis of solutions, designating it "The Dickinson Number." Well-known music critic Sigmund Spaeth to lecture at chapel. Park H. Loose is elected by Senate to represent Dickinson at the National Student Federation of America to be held at the University of Michigan in December - The first time Dickinson has been represented at this congress. Thre Dickinson freshmen were killed and a fourth critically injured in an automobile accident in Carlisle. Author Dr. Karlis Leyasmeyer to come to Dickinson to speak about Russia. Newly developed Junior-Year-in-New-York Program offered through New York University. News regarding the building of the new Chemistry building. Upcoming annual Follies performance titled, "Shades of Hades." Don O'Neill elected captain of Dickinson Swimming Team. The Women's Basketball and Volleyball Teams win at Susquehanna's Sports Day.

The Student Senate moves to increase its membership. A testimonial to Miss May Morris, recently retired librarian of Dickinson College, to be held. Dickinson finally bipartisan with the forming of College Democrats - College Republicans plan to a rally. Dr. Horace Rogers of the Chemistry Department named chairman-elect of the Southeastern Pennsylvania section of the American Chemical Society.

There will be three new buildings built on campus including a new men's dormitory, chemistry building and student activities center. The Dickinson College Student Counseling Program is implemented to help new Freshmen get used to life in college. The student counselors live with the Freshmen in their dormitories and help them acquire good study habits and become acquainted with the college's rules and regulations. The first article in a series regarding the current European situation is published, discussing nationalistic fraternities in Germany.

Required chemistry labs 131 and 132 are combined into a new more hands-on approach in Chemistry 141-foundations of chemistry. The Affirmative Action Officer updates the college's discrimination policy by changing the wording of prohibition of discrimination based on "gender" to discrimination based on "sex" and also adding the probation of discrimination due to "sexual orientation." Student Senate finds a bank error in their favor, collecting $40,000. On Sunday the 24th, a glass Coke bottle filled with tobacco "juice" shatters, spilling onto and damaging multiple books in the library.
