The three-day dramatic festival put on by the Devereux Players is a huge success. Plays performed include "Her Husband's Wife," "The Boor," "Ghosts," and scenes from "Twelfth Night" and "The School for Scandal." Plans to organize a gym team are announced. Belles Lettres elects new officers. 82 freshman men pledge the College's nine fraternities.

Thirty-four students will graduate from the Law School. Former Dickinson president writes history of the college to be revealed in October at the Sesquicentennial Celebration. Sesquicentennial Commencement Program included in this issue. Five alumni get honorary degrees. Library adds 3,000 new volumes. Editor for next year's Freshmen Handbook selected. Five fraternities created and published magazines this year. The Men's and Women's Glee Clubs gave a joint concert. The professors' summer plans are described. Dickinsonian, February 9, 1928

In this issue of the Dickinsonian, the Inter-Fraternity Council meets to discuss a new timeline for yearly Rush activities. President Morgan's health improves after a recent condition. In her chapel address, Cora Wilson Stewart, co-founder of the Moonlight Schools, calls to wipe out illiteracy by 1930. The Dramatic club will stage the comedies "Tea for Three" and "The Pastry." The Glee Club plans a tour of Central and Southern Pennsylvania. A collection of "Dickinson Lore" will be presented in an exhibition about the early days of the college. Progress continues on the new gymnasium.

The Autobiography of 15th president James Buchanan tells of early days at Dickinson College. The Debating season opens with a triangular meet with Haverford and Ursinus. Prof. Quimby speaks on Sex and the Bible. Dickinson attends the annual National Student Federation of America conference. Prof. Leon C. Prince announces his candidacy for Pennsylvania State Senator. Over the Christmas break, a janitor stops a small fire in Conway Hall.

President Morgan speaks out on rushing as fraternities plan to pledge new members this week. Professor Quimbly defends America's youth for not being as devilish and frank as many make them out to be and also speaks out about evolution. The All College Social Committee begins to plan the College Picnic. The first Women's swimming meet is held.

The theme for the Mid-Winter Ball will be George Washington's birthday. Eight new members initiated into Phi Delta Theta. Five professors were among the 107 people that registered for the Armed Forces at Dickinson's third registration day. Kappa Sigma initiates five new members as Phi Mu initiates two. Rushing comes to a close for the fraternities. This week's Student Opinion Surveys of America poll debates the issue of the availability of alcohol near army camps. New president of the Athletic Association elected. History of the Lenore Allison Tower. Chi Omega initiates three.

Committee recommends that college end its policy on extra-curricular activities requiring participation with limits on number of activities as student may participate with. The thirty-one students arrested last week have each been ordered to pay a fine of $1.62. Dickinson's first all-college choir is created. Editorial on possibility of drafts and the role of education in men's lives. Dickinson's football team loses to Delaware 28-0. Inter-class badminton will be created for girls.

Sororities gain new members as bids were accepted. The Dickinsonian will be involved in a nation-wide Student Opinion Surveys of America which will try to compile data on student's opinions (the first question will be "Are you for or against changing the neutrality laws so that American ships may be armed and sent into war zones?"). Reading periods created in each course to allow students the opportunity for more independent research. Thirty-one undergraduate men arrested during a celebratory march to Metzger Hall. A mixed recreational swimming is being planned.

At opening of the 169th academic year, students hear about the role of education in the nation's defense. Fraternity bids will be announced Tuesday. $10,333.04 was raised with the 6th Annual Dickinson College Alumni Fund Campaign. Dr. Doney and Dr. Norcross passed away over the summer. Dickinson has gotten 5 new faculty members due to deaths and absences created by national security measures. Thirty-two varsity lettermen from Dickinson are now serving in the US armed forces.
