The 20th President of Dickinson College is inaugurated. The Dickinsonian conducts research the undergraduate life of new college president Fred Corson. The 330th anniversary of Martin Luther’s Bible translation will be celebrated by a supper meeting at Allison Memorial Church. It is remarked that President Corson is one of the youngest college presidents in the US. The Women’s Glee Club plans their spring schedule. A talk is presented by the Association of University Women on the importance of social engineering.

The commencement speaker for this year’s graduating class is selected. The inauguration of Dr. Fred P. Corson as the 20th president of Dickinson College is planned. At the request of the president, all fraternities must abolish all forms of Hell Week. Two members of the faculty resign. Three students are selected to study abroad. A Sub-Freshman Luncheon is planned for prospective students. The Women’s Glee Club performs for the Garden Club at Carlisle High School. The golf schedule is announced.

President Corson begins his term in office. The sophomore class wins the annual freshman-sophomore flag scrap. The Athletic Board decides to institute a student price for football tickets. The football team ties Hobart in the first game of the season. It is announced that the French exchange student has arrived on campus, and relates her criticisms of the US. The Founder’s Day issue of the Dickinsonian. President Corson gives a speech concerning the childish views in which most people view religion, and promotes introspection as a way to fix personal problems and be happy. Wheel and Chain taps eight new members. Methodist Bishop and former Dickinson trustee William Fraser McDowell died in his home Monday. The Debate team wins against Muhlenberg College in the final debate of the season. The Athletic Association awards Letters and elects a new basketball manager. Founder’s Day is celebrated with addresses and a memorial service.

The Library’s annual budget of $6,000 will be reduced to $5,000 due to the end of a grant usually given to the library. Jocko, the Biology Lab’s six-foot boa constrictor, died after losing a fang and contracting an infection. Columbia won against Dickinson in the debate over minimum wage regulations. During Pan-Hellenic Week, the boys and girls switch places to get a glimpse into the lives of the opposite sex. The week ended with a dance. The College Library opens a Newspaper Room in the basement of Bosler Hall.

At opening of the 169th academic year, students hear about the role of education in the nation's defense. Fraternity bids will be announced Tuesday. $10,333.04 was raised with the 6th Annual Dickinson College Alumni Fund Campaign. Dr. Doney and Dr. Norcross passed away over the summer. Dickinson has gotten 5 new faculty members due to deaths and absences created by national security measures. Thirty-two varsity lettermen from Dickinson are now serving in the US armed forces.
