Commencement Play

Skull and Key holds initiation.  Professor Leon Prince marries Miss Julia Delavan, class of 1913.  Dr. William Lindsay retires due to declining health.  Troutman Gougler selected as new field coach.  Musical clubs have successful year and tour.  Conway Hall holds commencement exercises.  Oratorical department and Library Guild have successful years.  Skitchagenee holds annual banquet and initiates new members.  Traditional Commencement Play forbidden by Trustees.  Press Club holds second annual banquet and elects new officers.  Dr. C. The Dickinson baseball team defeats Gettysburg, but loses to Lehigh. The Dickinson Players are to present Euripides’ Iphigenia in Tauris as the Commencement play. The senior class held their annual Senior Day in Holly. The class Senators were elected for the coming year. The Skitch-a-genee Society also elected its new successors. The Commencement Program is announced.

Commencement Play will be 'As You Like It", put on by the Dramatic Club. Student conference to be held ion Northfield, MA in July. Notes on the improvement of the use of English grammar in student's thesis.

Founders' Day and May Day events announced. Athletic Association sponsors large inter-scholastic track meet to be held on Biddle Field. Final cast selected for Commencement Play. Senior Guy Rolland conducts important research in nickel plating, his results to be published by the American Electrochemical Society. Class of 1903 submits plans for campus improvements. Juniors win inter-class track meet.

Seniors to hold class day exercises. Dramatic Club to perform the comedy "The New Poor" as commencement play. Commencement season details announced. Sports prospects for the coming year are published. Women's Athletic Association closes best season yet.

New system and rules for fraternity rushing described. The Dickinson Players presented the annual Commencement Play, performing "Are You a Mason?" Opening of the new Beta Theta Pi fraternity house. Miss Edna E. White presented to the College a large Galilean reflecting telescope. S. Marsh Johnson resigns from his post as the Varsity Coach, and Robert H. Duffy is elected to replace him. The Carnegie Corporation of New York has awarded an art collection to the College of "considerable value." An article outlines the events of Alumni Day.

Seniors H.G. Stutzman and Betsy Ann Cloud take the lead roles in the Commencement play "Honor Bright".  Donald Smith is elected leader of the college band. Phi Psi wins the inter-fraternity track event for the second year in a row.  The orchestra announces a surprise symphony by Haydn on May 16th in the chapel.  Rabbi S.S. Wise of the New York Free Synagogue gives a rousing liberal speech questioning the purpose and legitimacy of American colleges.

The Mohler Scientific Society plans a series of meetings: C. C. Bowman will speak on the Alpha Rayin the Tome Scientific Building; Dr. John Frederick Mohler will provide students an opportunity to view the moon through a telescope; and Dr. Brown of Bucknell University will speak on liquid air.  On Monday the 16th, two girls, Mary McCrone and Nancy Reese, were injured in an explosion in the chemistry lab.  The Dickinson Players announce that they will perform the three-act farce "Honor Bright" at Commencement.
