Leslie, a chaplain at Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Wellesley University, is chosen to lead the Danforth Experiment outlined by Dickinson College's Danforth Foundation. Duke Ellington and his jazz orchestra play at the Mid-Winter Ball. The Editor-in-Chief of the Dickinsonian, Walter Learn Sandercock and a sophomore, May Der die within a few days of each other. Dickinson Swimming scores a number of key wins against Gettysburg College, American University, Bucknell University, and Drexel Tech. Susan Fooder crowned as Queen of the Mid-Winter Ball.
