Noonday Concert

The Music Department presented a Noonday Concert in the Rubendall Recital Hall.  Students and faculty performed Billy Strayhorn's "Take the 'A' Train," Jerome Kern's "All the Things You Are," Jeff Jarvis' "Critical Mass," Dmitri Shostakovich's "Concerto no. 2, mvt. I," Johann Sebastian Bach's "Sonata no. 1, G minor, S. 1001," Erik Satie's "Sonatine Bureaucratique," and John Corigliano's "A Black November Turkey."

Blanka Bednarz and Jennifer Blyth Perform

The Music Department presented a faculty recital by Blanka Bednarz and Jennifer Blyth at 4:00pm in Rubendall Recital Hall.  Bednarz and Blyth performed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Duo for violin and viola in Bb Major, KV 424," Ralf Yusuf Gawlick's "Sonata-Mazur (Aus der Ferne...) for violin and piano," and Johannes Brahms' "Piano Quartet in C minor, op. 60."

The Music Department presented a faculty recital by flutist Mary Hannigan and pianist Barry Hannigan at 7:00pm in the Rubendall Recital Hall.  The program included Eugène Goosens' "Three Pictures," Edgard Varèse's "Density 21.5," Paul Hindemith's "Sonate," Béla Bartók's "Suite Paysanne Hongroise," Philippe Gaubert's "Sonatine (quasi fantasia)," and Frank Martin's "Ballade."
