Professor Montgomery Porter Sellers writes to Augustine Birrell, the Chief Secretary for Ireland, and describes an observance of "Nisbet Day" that morning at Dickinson College, explains how Charles Nisbet became the first President of Dickinson, and provides additional information about Charles Nisbet's character. In addition, Sellers informs Birrell that he cannot find any evidence that William Hazlitt was ever officially offered the presidency of Dickinson College.
