"Mirages of Empires and Putin's Era" Art Exhibition

As part of the "Travel as Art" event, Russian artists Natasha and Valera Cherkashin presented an exhibition of their art titled "Mirage of Empires and Putin's Era" in the Goodyear Gallery. The exhibition was co-sponsored by the Departments of Art & Art History, Russian, the Russian Area Studies Program, and the Clarke Center.

The event was held in Rubendall Recital Hall and was sponsored by the Clarke Center. 

"Voice For Unity" Event

Piri Thomas, a poet-writer, held a talk titled "Voice for Unity" in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium. This event was hosted by the Departments of Spanish and Portuguese and was co-sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Consortium, the Spanish Club, the Clarke Center, the Office of Global Education, the Office of Diversity and Social Justice, and the Dean of Students. 

Debate on Globalization

Professor Michael Fratantuono (International Business and Management Department) and Professor Sinan Koont (Economics Department) participated in a debate during Common Hour titled "Globalization: Threat or Opportunity?" The event, which was held in Rubendall Recital Hall, was sponsored by the Clarke Center.

This event was co-sponsored by the Max Kade Center, Judaic Studies, International Business and Management Department, Global Education, the German Department, and the Clarke Center. 

"Jews in Germany Today: Dynamic Growth, Dramatic Change" Lecture

Rick Atkinson lecture on the US Army in North Africa

Rick Atkinson, a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, gave a lecture in Memorial Hall on February 13, 2001 titled "Bringing Back the Dead: History, Memory and Writing about the War." Atkinson discussed his experiences writing about the US Army in North Africa during World War II. The Clarke Center sponsored the event.
