All New Jose Greco Company Performs with Students

The internationally acclaimed All New Jose Greco Company, a Spanish dance company, performed in the Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium on October 3 at 7:00pm. Presented by the Central Pennsylvania Consortium, students from Dickinson and Franklin and Marshall Colleges had the opportunity to perform with the company.

Carnegie Art Exhibit Opens

At the 1928 Commencement, an art exhibit comprised of donations by Andrew Carnegie was on view in Denny Hall.  The exhibit featured 900 pictures, photographs and colored reproductions, a case of mounted textiles, a complete set of Rembrandt's etchings, a set of original etchings, and, courtesy of the Harrisburg Alumnae, 300 colored reproductions of great paintings.

Sesquicentennial Presentation of Portraits

At the sesquicentennial dinner, nine portraits of prominent Dickinsonians were presented to the college.  The portraits presented were of Benjamin Rush, Matthew Brown, William Henry Denny, William Henry Allen, Robert Alexander Lamberton, Richard Alexander Fullerton Penrose, John Hays, Edward William Biddle, and John Frederick Mohler.

Mermaid Players' Production of "King Lear" Opens

King Lear, a play by William Shakespeare, opened at 8:00pm in Mathers Theatre. The title role of Lear was played by David Brubaker by arrangement with Actor's Equity Association. Presented by the Department of Dramatic Arts and the Mermaid Players, the production ran from February 11-16, including a 3:00pm matinee performance on February 13.
