Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, a play by Tennessee Williams, opened at 8:00pm in Mathers Theatre. Presented by the Mermaid Players, the production ran from October 28-November 1, 1983.
The Hero with a Thousand Faces, an original adaptation from the book by Joseph Cambell, was performed by the National Theatre of the Deaf on October 11 in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium. The production was presented by Cultural Affairs Committee with support of the Dickinson College Student Senate.
Street Scene, a play by Elmer Rice, opened in Mathers Theatre. Presented by the Mermaid Players, the production ran from February 10-14.
The Importance of Being Earnest, "a trivial comedy for serious people" by Oscar Wilde, opened at 8:00pm in Mathers Theatre. Presented by the Mermaid Players, the production ran from October 15-19.
The Cultural Affairs Committee presented Will Stutts as "Walt Whitman, Liberal and Lusty as Nature" at 8:00pm on February 21 in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium. The production is the first dramatic piece to be devoted to the life and works of Whitman.
Continuing Education presented William Faulkner: An Evocation at 8:00pm on November 11. The script for the production was arranged by Joseph Schiffman, the production was staged by Judy Banks and Faulkner was portrayed by Yates Forbis.

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band performed in The Kline Center on November 13 at 8:00pm. The event was sponsored by the Cultural Affairs Committee and was free for Dickinson students and staff.
The Cultural Affairs Committee presented Robinson's Mysteries, a play by Richard Robinson of Robinson Amusements. As part of the company's tour, they performed on October 9 in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium at 8:00pm.
A woodwind trio from Juilliard performed in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium on September 25 at 8:00pm. The group played a wide variety of music from Mozart to The Beatles in a performance entitled "Mozart on Fifth".
The National Marionette Theatre, featuring David Syrotiak, performed on September 10 at 8:00pm in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium. This performance, called "In Concert", showed the culmination of David Syrotiak's years of study, observation and experimentation with puppetry.
The Claude Kipnis Mime Theatre presented a program of contemporary pantomime in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium on March 3 at 8:00pm. The performance was presented by the Cultural Affairs Committee.
Dick Poston portrayed both Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas in their famous 1858 debates in a two-act "docu-drama". Presented by the Cultural Affairs Committee, the performance was on February 13 at 8:00pm in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium.
Laurie James performed her one-woman play Still Beats Noble Hearts: A Dramatic Portrait of Margaret Fuller in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium on February 15 at 2:00pm. The performance was supported by a grant from the Pennsylvania Humanities Council and was one of a series of programs of the 1981 Public Affairs Symposium of Dickinson College.
The annual spring dance concert, presented by the Department of Theatre and Dance and the Dance Theatre Group, opened at 8:00pm in Mathers Theatre. Featuring new work by student choreographers, the show ran from April 14-16, the final show being a 3:00pm matinee performance.

The title role of Hamlet was portrayed by Ian Westerfer.
