Dickinsonian, July 1889

Commencement is held.  Bishop Foss holds a sermon for the YMCA.  The Junior Oratorical Contest is held is Bosler Hall.  Class Day is celebrated by the Class of 1889.  The Belles Lettres and Union Philosophical Societies elect officers and honorary members.  The Alumni Association also elects officers.  An inter-class baseball game between the freshman and sophomores ends in a 25-21 victory for the freshman class.  A tennis tournament is held on campus.  The Freshman Baseball team wins an easy 15-1 victory from the Athletic Club of Harrisburg.  A game of baseball between Dickinson students and Carlisle residents ends in a 11-8 victory for Dickinson.  Chi Phi Fraternity, Theta Delta Chi, Sigma Chi, Phi Kappa Psi, and Phi Delta Theta all hold their annual banquets.
