A travelling group named Mime Troupe performed Jean-Claude Van Itallie's The Serpent in Mathers Theater on the evenings of April 30, May 1, and May 2.
John B. Sebastian, a well-known hippie guitarist, performed a concert at the College on Friday, April 16, 1971.
Mike and Sheila, a folk music duo, performed "mellow" music in the Social Hall on Thursday, April 1, and on the following Friday and Saturday.
The Congress of African Students presented the second annual Black Arts Festival on Friday, April 2, and Saturday, April 3, 1971. The festival featured dances, plays, music, singing, and poetry.
The Dickinson Follies, resurrected after a period of nonexistence, performed Robert Merrill's Carnival! at the Carlisle Intermediate High School Auditorium on the weekend of April 2, 1971. Mary Ruebush and Frank Noonan starred.
The ladies of Metzger Hall gave a program in which they sang old-fashioned songs while in the dress popular in the days of their grandparents.
The Department of Music presented the Collegium Musicum in their 1978 fall concert entitled Songs and Dances for the Queen of Heaven: Music for Advent and Christmas. Held in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium at 8:00pm, the concert featured many anonymously-written pieces such as "Jube domne/Primo Tempore", "O Virgo Splendens", "Stella Splendens", "Laudemus Virginem/Splendens Ceptigera", "Polorum regina", "Mariam, matrem", "Ad mortem festinamus", "T'Andernaken", "Sanctus, Agnus Dei", and "Ex illustri nata prosapia Catherina".
The Chamber Choir gave a concert at 3:30pm at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C.

The program for this event included Samuel Scheidt's "Canzone for Four Trumpets"; John Dowland's "Awake Sweet Love", "Come Again", and "Now, Oh Now, I Need Must Part"; Johann Sebastian Bach's "Sonata in B Minor"; Franz Joseph Haydn's "Minuet for Woodwind Quintet"; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Due pupille amabile" and "Piu non si trovano"; and Peter Schickele's "Monochrome I for Eight Flutes".
Music Professor Allen Krantz performed in a guitar recital at 8:00pm in Memorial Hall. He played Fernando Sor's "Les Folies d'Espangne" ; five preludes by Francisco Tarrega; six dances from Gasper Sanz's Instuccion de Musica; Johann Sebastian Bach's "Sarabande and Double"; Sylvius Leopold Weiss' "Fantasie"; Alexander Tansman's "Reverie", "Alla Polacca", and "Berceuse d'Orient"; Heitor Villa Lobos' "Etude No. 5 in C Major" and "Etude No. 7 in E Major"; and Augustin Barrios' "Waltz No. 4".
The College Chamber Choir presented a Homecoming Welcome Concert in Denny Hall. They sang Alfred Swan's "Bright Morning" and "Let Thy Soul Be Full of Exceeding Gladness"; John Wilbye's "Thus Saints my Cloris Bright" and "Lady, Your Words do Spite Me"; Thomas Weelkes' "Hark! All Ye Lovely Saints Above"; and Ralph Vaugh-Williams' "The Dark Eyed Sailor", "The Springtime of the Year", "Just as the Tide was Flowing", and "The Lover's Ghost".
The 1978 Parents' Day Concert was presented in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium. Featuring performances by the Brass Ensemble, College-Community Orchestra, Collegium Musicum, and College Choir, the program included Giovanni Gabrieli's "Canzona per sonare No. 3"; the overture to Gioacchino Rossini's William Tell; a selection of Medieval and Renaissance music; Sir Michael Tippett's "Steal Away", "Nobody Knows", "Go Down, Moses", "By and By" and "Deep River"; and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Te Deum".

Commemorating the tenth anniversary of Noonday Concerts, the program included Sigismund Neukomm's "Fanfare for Four Trumpets"; Johann Joachim Quantz's "Trio Sonata in C Major"; Johann Sebastian Bach's "Cello Suite No. 1"; Ralph Vaughn-Williams' "The Call", "I Got Me Flowers", and "Love Bade Me Welcome"; and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Luci care, luci belle", "Se lontan ben mio tu sei", and "Divertimento".
Axx Studio's production of Godspell, a musical by Stephen Schwartz, opened in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium. The production ran May 4-6.

The program for this concert included Mauro Giuliani's "Grand Sonata in A Major", Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Deh vieni alla finestra" from Don Giovanni, Francois Devienne's "Trio in G Minor", Dominic Argento's "Dirge" and "Spring", Samuel Barber's "Canzona for Flute and Piano", and P.D.Q. Bach's "My Bonnie Lass".
The Department of Music presented the eighth Noonday Concert of the 1977-1978 academic year in Memorial Hall. Students and faculty played Johannes Brahms' "Allegro non troppo from Sonata No. 1", Franz Joseph Haydn's "London Trio No. 1", George Frederic Handel's "Comfort ye, comfort ye My people", Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Allegro from Piano Sonata in C Major", Loren Wise's "Song for Oboe", and two waltzes by Frederic Chopin.
The Music Department presented a concert honoring the composer Ulysses Kay at 8:00pm in Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium. Celebrating his reception of an honorary degree, the College Wind Ensemble, College-Community Orchestra, Chamber Choir, and members of the Department faculty performed his pieces.

Their program included Browne's "Jesu, mercy, how may this be?"; Dufay's "Ce moy de may", "Helas, mon dueil", "Se la face ay pale", and "Agnus dei"; Isaac's "La mi la sol" and "Credo" from Missa La mi la sol; and three anonymously-written medieval dances: "Lamento di Tristano", "Istanpitta Isabella", and "La Manfredina".
The Music Department presented the College Choir, the College-Community Orchestra, and the Concerto Soloists of Philadelphia in a performance of George Frederick Handel's Israel in Egypt Oratorio. The performance started at 3:00pm in the Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium.
The Cultural Affairs Committee presented the Concerto Soloists of Philadelphia in a concert at 8:00pm in Anita Tuvin Schechter Auditorium. They played Francesco Geminiani's "Concerto Grosso No. 12 in D Minor", Franz Schubert's "Adagio and Rondo in A Major for Violin", Antonio Vivaldi's "Concerto in B Minor for four violins", Johann Sebastian Bach's "Concerto No. 5 in F Minor for Hapsichord", and Franz Joseph Haydn's "Concerto No. 1 in D Major for Piano".
The Music Department presented the seventh Noonday Concert of the 1977-1978 academic year in Memorial Hall. The program for this event included Felix Mendelssohn's "Venetian Boat Song No. 2"; two gavottes by Johann Sebastian Bach; Ralph Vaughn-Williams' "Vagabond", "In Dreams", "The Infinite Shining Heavens", "Whither Must I Wander", and "Bright in the Ring of Words"; Frederic Chopin's "Waltz in A-flat Major" and "The Emperor"; James Hook's "Sonata in G Major"; and Piotr Illyitch Tchaikovsky's "Joan of Arc's Farewell".

The program for this concert included Joseph Haydn's "Divertimento in B-flat Major", Felix Mendelssohn's "Auf Flugeln des Gesanges", Reynaldo Hahn's "L'heure exquise", two etudes by Fernando Sor, Frederic Chopin's "Grande Valse in A-flat Major", and four madrigals by John Wilbye".
