Local restaurant Salamandra closes as the Student Senate considers passing a resolution to allow students to use meal plan accounts at select Carlisle restaurants.  "Godfather of archaeology" Professor Leon Fitts is set to retire at the end of the semester.  The college receives a $93,000 grant from the Compost Infrastructure Development Grant Program to expand farming compost.  The 10th Annual Apollo Night talent show is held in the ATS auditorium.  The sports section remembers local legend Jim Thorpe.

The College Social Committee plans the Mid-Winter Dance for March 7 and campus elects the queen and her attendants. All major construction on Bosler Hall is completed and it is expected that the building will reopen on March 1. Dramatic Club players are performing a skit live on WHP Harrisburg radio station. Carlisle honors its American Hero, Jim Thorpe, with a celebration and event.

Dr. Fred P. Corson is elected President of the Association of College Presidents of Pennsylvania. Marion Van Auken is selected as the Queen of the Mid-Winter Ball. The new James W.
