Dickinsonian, September 4, 1980

Dickinson College is the recipient of the $250,000 grant from The Kresge Foundation. New security system added to Boyd Lee Spahr Library to prevent theft of books. Dickinsonian is awarded All-American status by the National Scholastic Press Association and the Associated College Press. Orientation activities take place. Convocation held for the first time in newly constructed Kline Center. Sally Porter hired as Dickinson's first female campus police officer. Sellers House converted into residence building. 379 W. Louther St. and 152 S. Pitt St. are purchased by the College for housing.

Dickinsonian, October 23, 1970

Pass/ fail options, freshmen grades, and general grading systems are discussed at an open hearing held by the Academic Standards Committee who are currently evaluating the grading system. An IPR subcommittee proposes to implement a college legislative body consisting of faculty, students, and administrators. Renovation of the Durbin Oratory is completed to make the chapel more appropriate for all worship and a re-dedication ceremony will follow. The college will open ATS for experimental use in February.

The Faculty are set to vote on calendar revisions, which many students oppose. W.H. Auden is slated to receive the Dickinson College Arts Award during a March 5th celebration. Some women helped police catch an intruder into Sellers Hall. The Mermaid Players production of "The Rivals" introduced novel set design. WIC introduced the "Non-Honor Code" to institute rules for all women not involved in the Honor Code. Dickinson is set to buy an original Pablo Picasso print. Prof. George Allan will deliver a sermon at the College Chapel.
