Members of the Ski & Snowboard Club plan to participate in the fourth annual Ski-4-Life 24-hour ski marathon at Ski Roundtop in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania.  The Beta Pi chapter of Kappa Sigma continues in its efforts to recolonize.

The Multi-Organizational Board announces alternative rock band Brand New as its Spring 2008 concert selection.  Stephanie Balmer is chosen as the new Dean of Admissions falling the resignation of Seth Allen in 2007.  Kappa Sigma mounts a return to the campus community after being suspended in 2004.  Over winter break, the Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring (ALLARM) has a successful trip to Thailand.

The Enrollment and Student Life Committee (ESLC) place a moratorium on the consideration of new fraternities and sororities as President William Durden contemplates how large of a role Greek life should play on campus.  A Senior Class Dinner is held with guest speaker Thomas S. Hutchinson, class of 1987.  The college's Serve the World organization plans a winter trip to Jamaica.  Author and women's right campaigner Selma James speaks at the college.

Local restaurant Salamandra closes as the Student Senate considers passing a resolution to allow students to use meal plan accounts at select Carlisle restaurants.  "Godfather of archaeology" Professor Leon Fitts is set to retire at the end of the semester.  The college receives a $93,000 grant from the Compost Infrastructure Development Grant Program to expand farming compost.  The 10th Annual Apollo Night talent show is held in the ATS auditorium.  The sports section remembers local legend Jim Thorpe.

Dickinson College continues in its crackdown of illegal file sharing.  The Sustainability Department's nationally organized "Step it Up" walk and bike ride event occurs at Dickinson.  Students remember Stephanie Kreiner after Alcohol Awareness Week with the third annual Run for Steph. A number of students receive citations for jaywalking.

Dickinson Red Alert is implemented utilizing the National Notification Network (3N) to notify all students in case of a campus emergency.  History professor David D. Commins is inaugurated as the first incumbent of The Benjamin Rush Distinguished Chair in Liberal Arts and Sciences.  Political artist Yolanda Lopez visits Dickinson's campus.  A Dickinsonian calls for squirrel genocide after news of a vermin in New Jersey that caused a car to explode after falling into its engine while on fire from a power line overhead.
