Noonday Concert

The Music Department presented its second Noonday Concert of the 1991-1992 academic year in the Rubendall Recital Hall.  Students and faculty performed Johann Pezel's "Three Pieces", Cartwright's arrangement of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Postlude", Ernst von Dohnanyi's "Sonata in B-flat, Op. 8", Henry Eccles' "Sonata", Johannes Brahms' "Quartet No. 2, A minor" and "Andante con moto from the Piano Trio in C major, Op. 87", Henri Wieniawski's "Scherzo - Tarantella, Op. 16 for violin and piano", Margaret Garwood's "Clancy Dances", and "Three Romantic Part Songs" by Gerald Finzl.

Nancy Baun and Eaken Piano Trio Perform

The Music Department presented a faculty recital by cellist Nancy Baun and the Eaken Piano Trio at 8:00pm in the Rubendall Recital Hall.  Pieces performed included Paul Bazelaire's "Suite Francaise, Op. 114", Edward Lalo's "Concerto in D minor", Percy Grainger's "My Robin Is to the Greenwood Gone", and Johannes Brahms' "Trio in C major, Op. 87".

Chamber Orchestra Presents "Works by Mozart and Vivaldi"

The Music Department presented a concert of works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Vivaldi performed by the Chamber Orchestra at 8:00pm in Rubendall Recital Hall.  The pieces performed included Mozart's "Overture to Idomeneo", Serenate for 13 winds (K. 361), "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (K. 525)", and "Overture to La Clemenza di Tito", as well as Vivaldi's "Concerto for 2 cellos and orchestra in G minor (P. 411)" and "Concerto in D minor".

Janet Barber Senior Recital

The Music Department presented a senior recital by flutist Janet Barber, accompanied by pianist Kee Mann Chang, at 3:00pm in Rubendall Recital Hall.  Barber performed Samuel Barber's "Canzone", Ulysses Kay's "Prelude", Ernest Bloch's "Suite Modale", Bernard Rogers' "Soliloquy", Arthur Foote's "Night Piece", Kent Kennan's "Night Soliloquy", and Aaron Copland's "Duo".

Chamber Orchestra Performs

The Music Department presented a concert by the Chamber Orchestra at 8:00pm in Rubendall Recital Hall.  The orchestra performed Johann Sebastian Bach's "Concerto for two violins and orchestra, BWV. 1043", Karl Maria von Weber's "Concerto no. 1 in F minor for clarinet and orchestra, Op. 75", Ludwig van Beethoven's "Romance in G major, Op. 40", and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Symphony no. 31 in D major.

The Music Department presented a senior recital by flutist Karen Beaver, accompanied by pianist Robert Felstein and flutist Jen Somerwitz, at 3:00pm in Rubendall Recital Hall.  Beaver performed Johann Sebastian Bach's "Sonata in G minor, BWV 1020", Robert Aitken's "Icicle", Georg Friedrich Handel's "Sonata in E minor", Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Andante in C major, K. 315", and Frédéric Chopin's "Variations on a Theme by Rossini".

String Quartet Recital

The Music Department presented a faculty recital by Beth Bullard and Marry Hannigan titled "Two Tutors of Flute" at 8:00pm in Rubendall Recital Hall.  The recital featured Georg Philipp Telemann's "Canonic Sonata in D major", Paul Hindemith's "Sonatine in Canon Style, Op. 31, No. 3", Hector Berlioz's "Trio of the Young Ishmaelites", Philippe Gaubert's "Divertissement grec", Johann Sebastian Bach's "Trio Sonata in G major, BWV 1039", and Franz Doppler's "Andante and Rondo, Op. 25".

College Choir and College-Community Orchestra Perform

The Music Department presented a spring concert by the College-Community Orchestra and the Dickinson College Choir featuring the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet at 3:00pm in the Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium.  The ensembles performed Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's "Russian Easter Overture", Leo Delibes' La Source, and Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.
