Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn Perform "Face to Face"

Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn performed Face to Face, a program of dramatic readings, on November 23 at 8:00pm in Bosler Hall. Face to Face featured excerpts from various plays, along with classic and popular poetry and prose. In this show, most pieces were performed by just one actor, though occassionally both performed a number.

Mermaid Players' Production of "Angel Street" Opens

Angel Street, a Victorian thriller by Patrick Hamilton, opened in Bosler Hall. Presented by the Mermaid Players, this play was the first laboratory theatre production by the organization. A project in experimental theater, the Lab Theatre intended to present a wider variety of plays that might appeal to more specific audiences in addition to the usual, more formal productions put on by the Players. The event was free and ran from January 11-12.

"Crosscurrents in the Mediterranean" Exhibit Opens

An exhibit entitled "Crosscurrents in the Mediterranean: European, Islamic, and Hebrew Manuscripts from the Lawrence J. Schoenberg Collection" was on display in the Trout Gallery from September 7th to November 3rd, 2001.  It considered "the notion of border crossing from historical, geographic, and cultural perspectives" using Mediterranean works from the medieval and early modern periods.
