The Student Senate approves new Social Rules recommended by the Social and Academic Affairs Committee and will be put into action with Dean approval.The Student Violations Hearing Board meets and alters procedures. A student faculty group explores issues of campus life debating "what is right and wrong with Dickinson students." Transfer students increase due to dislike of the 5-5-4-4 system. The second half of the Andrews Report is presented exploring patterns in the student body.Progress and goals of the new Leadership Council are explained. WDCV begins broadcasting with all new equipment after a year off the air. The Mermaid Players begin production of "Chaillot." A contest will be held in preparation for the Debating Association of Pennsylvania Colleges. Professors debate the proposed idea of a designated reading period. In the last of a series on liberal arts education and Dickinson's success's and failures regarding it, suggestions are made for Dickinson's improvement. Dickinson's mermen, the first in Dickinson history to compete in a national championship, return with one All-American and five Honorable Mention selections.
