Dean Samuel Magill resigned as Dean of the College. Dick Gregory is scheduled to speak during Parent's Weekend in a College Lecture Series program. Dean Gillespie announced that Malcolm Hall will remain an independent men's dormitory. The "Sam and Dave Concert" will perform for the beginning of Spring Weekend. Arthure Hoppe wrote an opinion piece entitled "The Liberal Man Makes it to Heaven on Humility". The IFC decided to shorten the time period allotted for rush and create a hearing board for rush violations. WDCV institutes some changes as the radio station ushers in FM broadcasting. Tau Pi Chi plans to sponsor a Gordon Bok concert at the Open Door. Sophomore Barry Taylor was selected to be a part of "Project Africa", and educational and service trip to Malawi for eight weeks during the summer. An article by Stephen Reed profiles the burnings and looting that occurred in the wake of Dr. King's assassinations by both whites and blacks. Barbara Ann Rowden, and Dickinson College Theology graduate, is set to assist with community service projects as part of the Chaplain's office. SAE and Pi Phi joined up to raise money and supplies for the State Mental Hospital. Several Dickinson students and faculty are spearheading a local effort to elect Eugene McCarthy. Baseball and lacrosse lose, while the rifle team and the tennis team win. Steve Marini won a Rockefeller Trial Year Fellowship.
