Dr. Noah B. Rosenberger joins the faculty to replace Dr. Landis as head of the math department while he is away. Milton W. Eddy is elected professor of biology. Matriculation. YMCA and YWCA give annual reception for freshmen. Professor William A. Baumgartner joins faculty as Bible professor. Karl Shedd joins faculty as associate professor of romance language. Herbert L. Davis ’21 becomes instructor in chemistry and history. Charles Thomas ’21 becomes instructor of mathematics. List of new students. YMCA and YWCA re-institute the Student Department of the College Church Sunday School.

Dickinsonian, September 26, 1919

Professors William W. Landis, Wilbur H. Norcross, and Craver return to the college after being absent.  Professors Battenhouse and M. A. Dawber join faculty.  Sophomores win annual flag scrap.  Matriculation service is held.  List of members of incoming class.  Students who had left to serve in WWI return to the college.  YMCA holds annual reception in honor of freshmen.

The incoming freshmen made Dickinson history as the largest class ever- 310 freshmen matriculated after 1400 applications, coming from 15 states and 9 countries. Thirty new faculty members have joined Dickinson including Dean of Men Alan Coutts, college chaplain Reverend Mr. J. Artley, and professors in the Departments of Biology, Geology, Economics, History, English, Mathematics, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Physics, Psychology, ROTC, and Sociology.

John Walsh, host of America's Most Wanted, was the keynote speaker for the Public Affairs Symposium on Crime and Punishment. Several sexual assault incidents on campus have raised public safety concerns among the Dickinson community. The Center for Public Speaking will be eliminated after this year. Congressman Curt Weldon is set to receive the Benjamin Rush Award. Five students are asked about President Durden's reason for wearing a bow-tie. Adam Ferullo writes a "good-bye" column to President Bill Clinton.
