All-College Committees

Spotlight on newly elected athletic director and head football coach B. Russell Murphy. Varsity basketball team has "most successful year in history of the College", with ten wins and four losses. New representatives were elected to Faculty, all-college Committees, and to the College Judicial Boards in the last faculty meeting. The last Student Senate meeting revolves around election of new members to college committees and discussion of Tenure. Formal dedication of the new ATS auditorium will be held Saturday, may 22. The 1971 Summer Transitional Program will be directed by Dr. Richard H. Jefferson and Mr. Tom Stokes. The Anniversary Committee holds its first meeting to play bi-centennial celebrations.

Workmen resume cutting down trees after a student protest halted work for two days. Extensive discussion of student opposition to cutting down trees highlighted the first faculty meeting of the year. The Senate will change its committee structure by dissolving some committees whose duties overlap those of college committees. 35 random freshmen were invited to Dean Hawkins first Fireside Chat.
