Construction on a new wall along high street in front of the Weiss Arts Center begins, and is met with much student opposition. COPUS sponsored an information session on Thursday, February 24th, to help students better understand their options regarding financial aid. The Weiss Center for Arts was recently flooded, but damage to the center was minimal, and faculty members continued to be optimistic about the new arts center. At the University of Denver, students convinced administrators to raise student fees so that the administration could provide better student services.

Nancy Lindgren, director of the Holland Union Building, and Dean Kremer, Student Senate president, have been clashing over misinformation on when Student Senate elections should be and their discrepancies have caused quite a stir on campus. A sub-committee has been created to examine the College's policies on investments in South Africa. The College's Food Service is working to expand the kitchen and dining hall since the former business manager, Barry Gaal, stated that the preparation area was too small for the College's size.

Barry Gaal, the College's Business Manager, has resigned after 15 years. The new course evaluation procedure, which had been started the following year, is received well by professors. Parents all over the United States have been requesting a rating system for music as a form of censorship. Ted Kirkpatrick achieved the 1,000 point milestone in basketball. This is the first year that the Dickinson College Boxing Club will have the potential to vie for team title based on the results of the Regional Qualifier.

A salary raise received by College Treasurer John Woltjen draws stark criticism from faculty. Cannonball Adderly will give a concert Sept. 20th with music being a mix of jazz and soul. President Rubendall greets the incoming freshman class and stresses honesty at the 202nd Convocation. Registrar Paul Anderson will leave the College after five years of service. President Rubendall announces personnel shifts: John Woltjen, formally business manager and treasurer will now be treasurer, Barry Gaal will be business manager, and Robert Belyea will be comptroller.

Dr. Richard H. Wanner has been appointed Dean of the College, effective July 1, 1971. Senate looks for a replacement to serve on the Academic Program Committee as well as nominations for the Development and Communications Committee. Barry L. Gaal is appointed assistant Business Manager effective March 1. Financial Aid Director Charles Twichell held a "Financial Aid Analysis Workshop" to help students understand the system. The Mermaid Player's upcoming production of Serjeant Musgrave's Dance will question the meaning of war. Dickinson's formally all male Glee Club now thrives as coed.
