Dickinson is the nation's first liberal arts college to be selected for a NASA climate change grant. Italian film director Marco Tullio Giordana visits Dickinson. President Durden speaks at the Mediterranean Association for International Schools (MAIS) Conference in Italy. Women's Swimming wins against Susquehanna. Alan Seretti is the new Men's Basketball coach. After performing well at Regionals, Cross Country eyes the National Championships.

This issue consists of articles regarding Rachel McCool's ('07) success in the JEOPARDY! game show. Discussion of the limited amount of U.S. History classes offered at Dickinson College. The College warns of strict regulation against electronic file sharing amongst students. A security camera is placed on East College to monitor the Benjamin Rush statue and prevent vandalism. Weiss Prize recipient, Cassie Gurbisz '05 describes her project of working with roadkill in art. Dickinson students led by Maureen Conly '05 start a Girl Scout Troop in Carlisle.

Dickinsonian, March 3, 1988

Athletic trainer Julie Ramsey was not rehired by the College, causing quite a stir amongst students, and led to some students passing around a petition in protest. The Dining Services is under new management by Nick Stamos, who is working to improve the system. Anne Sturges, a freshman, has started a program for mentally disabled children in Carlisle. The women's basketball team made it to the Middle Atlantic Conference only to have their season end after a loss at the conference. Bo Hoppin and Kiki Jacobs of the swim team both qualified for Nationals at the Middle Atlantic Conference.

Two separate car accidents hospitalize students. Eric Saylor hit a bridge abutment and had to be hospitalized. Chris Napoli, Frank Norris and David Ridgeway were in a two-car accident after going through a blinking red light and getting hit by a pick-up truck. The College has a $20 million campaign goal, set for five years, and according to Robert White of the Communications and Development they have around $10 million and three more years to reach the goal. The Women's Swim team places 14th at the NCAA Division III National Swimming and Diving Championships.
