Athletic trainer Julie Ramsey was not rehired by the College, causing quite a stir amongst students, and led to some students passing around a petition in protest. The Dining Services is under new management by Nick Stamos, who is working to improve the system. Anne Sturges, a freshman, has started a program for mentally disabled children in Carlisle. The women's basketball team made it to the Middle Atlantic Conference only to have their season end after a loss at the conference. Bo Hoppin and Kiki Jacobs of the swim team both qualified for Nationals at the Middle Atlantic Conference.

Dickinsonian, September 19, 1991

Students react to an "anti-Greek" letter called "Stop the Violence." A new Dining Service system was installed, which allowed upperclassmen to use an express lane to get their meals. Students perform a dramatic reading of John Updike's "Buchanan Dying." Two new Russian professors, Valentina Kratsova and Natalya Vikhilaeva, arrive at Dickinson and talk about struggles in Moscow. The football season starts off with a major win over St. Francis.

Dickinsonian, November 3, 1977

Due to a possible budget cut by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency towards higher education, the College has about $70,000 at stake if the $300 million dollar fund is cut by the state. The College commission seeks to improve women's status both on campus, in the classroom and amongst faculty members. The College Chamber Choir is to perform in Washington D.C. at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The College's Food Service is reviewing its food, meal plans and sanitation.

A rumored change in Dickinson's food service provoked a student outcry. Dean Gillespie has announced Thomas W. Carver as the new Dean of Men. John Bakeless is set to lecture on Thomas Conrad at the Spahr Library on April 5 at 8 P.M. 20 students were selected to be part of the Center for International Studies in Bologna. The faculty passed a new law regarding student athletics, stating that it is the individual students responsibility to make up missed work if classes were skipped for athletic events.
