The sophomore class captures the leader of the freshman class on the eve of the freshman Halloween party. The Macbeth performance drew a full house with more than one hundred of these guests coming from out of town. At a faculty meeting it is decided that Thanksgiving break will be extended to include the weekend after Thanksgiving, therefore omitting Saturday classes for this break. Robert Lavanture of the senior class and the Inter-fraternity Council is elected to attend the National Inter-fraternity Council.

Faculty approves adding a common hour to the routine schedule starting with the 1990-1991 academic year. Ralph Nader delivers keynote address at Public Affairs Symposium, drawing record crowds. Mermaid Players put on production of John Guare's "The House of Blue Leaves". Indoor track teams finish season in Middle Atlantic Conference Invitational with school records broken in the men's 440-yard dash and women's distance medley relay.

College faculty rescinds ban on student alcohol-related activities, suspends all Rush activities for the remainder of the Fall semester. All classes and College activities suspended for Declare Day. SASC to vote on a revision of the Alcohol Policy. Camp Hill prisoners riot. Magician Kevin Spencer performs in ATS. Mermaid Players on stage for their fall production, "Kind Lady".

College Board of Trustees vote to adopt a resolution endorsing the Select Committee Report on Greek Life. Official investigation into student's death is completed. In light of charges brought against Alpha Chi Rho for their involvement in the accident, the fraternity pleads guilty and the chapter is suspended indefinitely. Committees to discuss plan to alter the weekly schedule. The Conventional Theater puts on a production of "Talking With", with both students and professors performing.
