Phi Beta Kappa elects three senior students. Professor Leon C. Prince announces his candidacy for Congress in the Republican party. Members of the Student Senate critique the practice of group representation in Senate elections and express the need for cooperation and a definite definition of Senate's field of activity. A debate will be held between two Dickinson students and two students from Gettysburg on the Bok Peace Plan. The Glee Club performs a concert in Harrisburg.

The opening day of the Dickinson in China fundraiser drive raises $887 in donations from 279 students. The Conly Concert Company of Philadelphia will give a concert. Alumnus Andy Kerr teaches a course on yell leading at Standford. The Athletic Council passes a resolution limiting the college gymnasium's capacity to 400 people. A college holiday is declared for the weekend of Washington's birthday.

A Dickinson in China fundraiser drive begins with a goal of $2,000, to be put towards the maintenance of a professor at the West China Union University. Joe Lightner is reelected head football coach for the 1924 season. A feature on West China Union University, its history, and graduates appears. The Tribunal enacts mandatory study periods for all freshmen four nights a week as punishment for widespread disregard of the Freshman Rules.

A listing of cash prizes and medals available for excellence in scholarship appears with descriptions of the specific requirements for each. The final members of the debate team are selected. State Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert Von Moschzisker will give a lecture on the "World Court." Belles Lettres literary society holds two separate meetings in the span of four minutes. Dickinson bird lovers erect three feeding stations for native birds around campus. Guest speaker Dr. F. Watson stresses the importance of critical thinking during his address to chapel.

Dickinsonian, January 12, 1924

Five thousand domestic students and 1000 international students, including 5 representatives from Dickinson College, attend a youth leadership conference in Indiana to discuss the possibility of Christian solutions to global problems. Coach Richard McAndrews is elected athletic director of the college. The non-fraternity men create a new social organization for themselves. Dickinson participates in a nation-wide referendum on the winning Bok Peace Plan. The various men's fraternities pledge 71 men. New rules regarding eligibility to participate in athletics go into effect.
