The Union Philosophical Society holds their anniversary, while the Belles Lettres Society opts not to. The boys on campus hold a “Stag Dance” in the basement of Old West.
Students bemoan an attempt by the faculty to have them return early from winter break. Rumors that a professor will be leaving the school are dispelled. Annie Little, the daughter of Professor Little, dies and is buried.
Students are admonished for their tendency to gossip about Carlisle’s residents. The freshman and sophomores have a fight in front of Old West for the privilege to carry canes. Allegheny College requests representatives from Dickinson are present at an Inter-Collegiate Oratorical Contest in which many local schools are involved.
Fraternity fighting is sharp and competitive. The freshman and sophomore baseball teams play one another, with the freshmen winning 14-9. The sophomores adopt a “class hat.” Students present orations in the College Chapel.
The Dickinsonian is revived after a two-year stint of absence. The baseball team beats out Gettysburg in a close game of 9 to 5, decided in the last two innings after a 4-4 tie after the seventh. A memorial service is held for President James Garfield. The seniors reinstate the Commencement Week tradition of Class Day. The baseball team plays two games against the Harrisburg Anchors, losing 11-6.

A chapter of the Delta Chi Law Fraternity is founded at the Law School. Dickinson wins one game and loses one game of chess with Bucknell. The Belles Lettres Society holds elections. Improvements are made to the athletic fields.
Annual mid-winter athletic exhibition is held. Alpha Zeta Phi holds second annual reception. YMCA elects officers; McNeil is president. Freshman Angella E. Harry dies after a long illness. Dickinson becomes a founding member of the Pennsylvania Inter-Collegiate Oratorical League; Furst '93 represents Dickinson at the conference. UPS elects officers. Annual freshman banquet is held. Students praise a "resurrected" Dickinson, with many improvements being made by the new administration that drastically improves Dickinson's future outlook. Chi Phi is officially declared extinct.
