Cadman, Samuel Parkes

Dickinson defeats Swarthmore in the Fourth Intercollegiate Oratorical Contest.  The Junior physics class went to study the organ in Allison M. E. Church.  Rev. Samuel Parkes Cadman gives an excellent lecture.  The combined musical clubs give a concert at Shippensburg.  Dr. W. V. Kelley's lecture on Browning is a success.  Mid-winter sports exhibition held.  New Dickinsonian board announced.  Editor responds to hazing controversy.  1912 Microcosm board members announced. 

The editors respond to the band controversy.  John F. Howard's Shakespearean recital proves to be a disgrace.  "Old Jack" longtime and beloved janitor in Old East college dies.  Civic Club plans its last entertainment of the year, a lecture by Rev. Samuel Parkes Cadman. 

Tentative plans are made for the formation of an Alpha Gamma honorary journalistic fraternity. In his Chapel address to the College, Dr. Samuel Parkes Cadman speaks on "The Gift of Imagination" and urges students to dream. President Morgan celebrates his 50th year of almost continuous service to Dickinson, his alma mater. The basketball team loses to Mt. St. Mary's and Gettysburg. Mrs. Cora Wilson Stewart will speak on "The Story of the Moonlight Schools," which explores illiteracy in the mountains of her native Kentucky.
