Dickinson defeats Swarthmore in the Fourth Intercollegiate Oratorical Contest.  The Junior physics class went to study the organ in Allison M. E. Church.  Rev. Samuel Parkes Cadman gives an excellent lecture.  The combined musical clubs give a concert at Shippensburg.  Dr. W. V. Kelley's lecture on Browning is a success.  Mid-winter sports exhibition held.  New Dickinsonian board announced.  Editor responds to hazing controversy.  1912 Microcosm board members announced.

Prospects for the track team "forecast probable strength". Intercollegiate Oratorical Contest held in Bosler Hall. Freshman smoker held. Oratorio of the Holy City to be held. Y.M.C.A. to host a performance by the original drummer boy of Rappahannock. The Mohler Scientific Club held a meeting to discuss the spin of the golfball. Simon Pauxtis hired as new football coach. Alumni fund campaign seeks to raise $105,000.

Dickinsonian, April 1882

Requests from the students for reduced fair rates on the Philadelphia Railroad are denied in the wake of conflicts with fare rates over winter break.  Plans to create a Dickinson songbook are scrapped.  The Inter-Collegiate Oratorical Contest is cancelled due to lack of interest.  Seniors are invited to share supper with Dr. and Mrs. Harman.  The Philadelphia Dickinson Alumni Association holds a banquet.

The Freshmen, Sophomore, and Junior Classes choose their class officers. The board of the Microcosm is announced. This year’s freshman class in the largest to date. Dickinson wins in the Inter-collegiate Oratorical contest at Mt. Gretna. Y. M. C. A. reception occurs.
