YWCA and YMCA jointly hold a fete in the gymnasium.  Intercollegiate Debating teams are restructured.  A new department for the teaching of oral composition and debating is proposed.  Senate for 1911 elected.  Department of Oratory announces final contest.  1911 Microcosm published.  The Union Philosophical Society, the College Band, and the Harman Literary Society hold officer elections.  Halley's comet passes by.

The editors respond to the band controversy.  John F. Howard's Shakespearean recital proves to be a disgrace.  "Old Jack" longtime and beloved janitor in Old East college dies.  Civic Club plans its last entertainment of the year, a lecture by Rev. Samuel Parkes Cadman.

Washington's Birthday banquet a successful evening.  Fresmhan smoker is held.  Kappa Sigma holds a dance in Assembly Hall.  Some upperclassmen respond to the Band's article of the previous week.  The trustees hold their usual midwinter meeting in Philadelphia.

All college feed planned for February 22nd.  Mr. John F. Howard to give a recital of "Julius Caesar."  Civic Club holds a lecture on "Storm Heroes of our Coast" by the Hon. Arthur K. Peck.  The college band announces it will now require payment for playing at non-athletic events and rebuffs accusations of lack of school spirit.  New college bulletin is issued.  Any interested are invited to participate in the Carlisle Oratorio Society's production of "Samson and Delilah".

Dickinsonian, May 21, 1913

The baseball team defeats St. John’s, and loses to Lafayette. By a margin of only one vote, the Honor System is voted down at the College Assembly. The seniors go on the annual Senior Picnic. The Union Philosophical Society, College Band, and Class of 1916 chose their class officers.

Dickinsonian, November 14, 1925

The cabinets of the YMCA and YWCA join forces to continue to educate students about US involvement in the World Court. The question of the United States entering the World Court will be put to Congress in December and it is the goal of the YMCA for students voices to be heard by taking a poll  to present to Congress. The football team is defeated 0 to 6 by their Gettysburg rivals. Dickinson will receive $150,000 in the will of trustee Melville Gambrill.

Dickinsonian, October 31, 1925

Dickinson ties Muhlenberg College 0-0 in a rainy football match.  Marthues Dougherty wins the award for best cheer handed into the cheer contest committee. Professor Richard Burton will deliver a lecture as part of a series of Chapel entertainments. The college prepares to celebrate Parents' and Alumni Day. The Interfraternity Council plans to revise rushing rules. Women's Basketball practice will begin. Pledge day for women's fraternities will be held in the coming week.

The football team opens their season with a game against Lebanon Valley ending in a 6-6 tie. Dickinson has been chosen to hold the twenty-first annual Student Volunteer conference of the colleges and seminaries of Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  Revisions are made to the plan for first year / fraternity interacting to require that each fraternity send 1-3 representatives to every other fraternity on their night for entertainment. Both the Christian Fellowship Group and the French Club receive their largest attendance ever this year.

Dr. Gaither P. Warfield, '17, gives talks on his experiences of German concentration camps. Austin Grugan, Martin Helrich, Harold Gould, and William Rudy join Lambda Sigma Pi, science honor society. It is announced that the college band will accompany the football team to their game against Delaware. Plans are laid out for a college-wide observance of Armistice Day. Preparations are made for the upcoming debate season, to include debates with four other institutions. A feature on boat travel in China appears. Dickinson becomes a member of the American Association of University Women. The Carlisle Civic Club and YWCA announce plans for a flag sale fundraiser to provide aid to Armenia.

Dickinsonian, March 9, 1933

Summary of events planned for upcoming various Dickinson Clubs' banquets. Basic schedule of the upcoming all-girls field day, which includes girls from other area colleges and universities. Description of frog dissections in Biology Lab. The Interfraternity Council denies the petitions of two Jewish fraternities who wished to be allowed on campus. Play-pageant based on the history of Dickinson is planned as a commencement activity for the sesquicentennial. Swarthmore girls vote to get rid of sororities. Phi Kappa Sigma awarded trophy for the interfraternity boxing championship.

Dickinson changes policy to an absence based policy from a demerit system. The size of the campus is enlarged after the college buys the Mooreland Estate and deer park. The Football team has high hopes for their season and appear to be in a good position to win games this season. The rush activities begin for the fraternities on campus. The college is to celebrate its sesquicentennial in the coming year. A German exchange student's perspective of life at Dickinson is offered. Tribunal on "erring freshmen" held.

The combined Glee Clubs and the Allison Church Choir sponsor a concert by the world-famous Westminster Choir. The college charters a train to transport students to Lancaster in order to support the football team in their game against Franklin and Marshall. Upon arriving in Lancaster, the students and the College Band will march on the field along with the team.

Dr. Goodrich C. White, president of Emory University to be commencement speaker. Eight honorary degrees to be conferred at commencement, three on graduates of Dickinson. Men's Glee Club to present concert featuring hit Broadway showtunes. Prof. John Steckbeck to go on tour addressing various groups over the summer. Plans for College Band include the possible formation of a concert dance band composed of members from the band.

Mermaid Players to give unique outdoor production of "The Taming of the Shrew". Student Senate elects officers for 1954-1955 school year. Glee Club to preview their concert on a nationwide radio program broadcasting from Harrisburg. College Band is disbanded for the remainder of the semester, hopes to resume next year. Dickinson Young Republican Club holds meeting to discuss reorganization after being inactive for almost a year.

Dickinson football won against Susquehanna last weekend and will face Gettysburg this coming weekend. Petition presented with 450 signatures at the beginning of Chapel about giving athletic scholarships to students--this was the result of built up tensions. Improvements to be made to Conway Hall. Editorial remembers the college band of two years ago, bemoaning the current status of the band and encourages the band to rediscover this previous life, energy and precision. Dickinsoni-Anne parodies Emily Post and what she'd say about attending chapel and going to class.
