Tau Delta Pi holds farewell banquet for seniors; Elizabeth Keen, Helen Kretschmar, Edith Ann Lingle, Jane Treyz, and Jo Ann Wilson are initiated into Tau Delta Pi; Elinor Derr and Estelle Mumford become Tau Delta Pi officers. Phi Kappa Sigma and Zeta Tau Alpha hold spring formals. Wheel and Chain taps eight new members: Marion Bender, Edith Ann Lingle, Kathleen Briner, Elinor Derr, Goldie Kunkle, Jane Treyz, Doris Bacastow, and Catherine Stern. Second summer session to be held. President Fred P. Corson speaks at Easter Sunrise Service at Arlington National Cemetery.

Junior class, Class of 1943, elects president. Student Senate decides that Rushing will not occur during the summer session. the 169th Commencement. Approximately 120 students are enrolled for the summer session. the 1942 Microcosm comes out on time. Six high school seniors are awarded Trustee scholarships. Dean Vuilleumier heads Carlisle's Gas Defense Squad, a part of the Office for Civilian Defense. Two Dickinson graduates will face each other in the Congressional race in Wilke-Barre and the winner of this election will succeed another Dickinsonian. Six Dickinson students enlist in the US Naval Air Corps Reserve and will begin to form the Dickinson unit under the "V-5" program.

Over 200 guests and perspective students visited on Guest Day. Fraternities register for sugar rationing and individual registration will begin soon. Article on the history of Metzger Hall. Many Dickinson athletes enlist in the Marine Corps.

Dean Vuilleumier discusses the plan for the first ever summer semester to take place this summer. Girls prepare to escort men in the coming days as Pan-Hell Week begins. List of all Dickinson alumni that has been living in Hawaii. President Corson returns from month-long vacation in the South. A graduate from 1934 has just qualified as a sharpshooter in the US Marine Corps. Dickinson begins to require physical education as a graduation requirement for men.

New classes added to curriculum relating to the war and war in general. Student Opinions Surveys of America polls reveal that patriotism has risen in college students since the United States became involved in the war. Dickinson offers accelerated program in accordance with the government's recommendation. Article discusses legacy students in the Freshmen class. Robert C. Dickinson football won against Susquehanna last weekend and will face Gettysburg this coming weekend. Petition presented with 450 signatures at the beginning of Chapel about giving athletic scholarships to students--this was the result of built up tensions. Improvements to be made to Conway Hall. Editorial remembers the college band of two years ago, bemoaning the current status of the band and encourages the band to rediscover this previous life, energy and precision. Dickinsoni-Anne parodies Emily Post and what she'd say about attending chapel and going to class.

Metzger Hall will revise its constitution in the coming year. Wheel and Chain continues its book drive for the Negro Community Center in Carlisle that formally opened on October 26. New mandatory class, "How to Make Good in College," created for Freshmen. Nation wide poll discovered that most American college students are opposed to changing the Neutrality Law to allow supply ships to be armed to enter war zones. Dr. Wilbur V. Mallalieli, former Red Cross captain, will speak before the Union Philosophical Society on the society's 150th anniversary.  25 students visit a Bethlehem Steel plant in Steelton, PA as part of Social Survey.  A report composed by Dickinson delegates is adopted at the debate convention at Penn State.  James W.

Professor Wellman J. Warner addresses the Upsilon Circle of the Omicron Delta Kappa on the subject of "Leadership in a Free Society."  Belles Lettres and the French Club have Christmas parties.  The Dickinson Women's Choral Club and Allison Memorial Choir present "The Messiah" jointly at Allison Memorial Church.  Tau Delta Pi gives one-act play before Dramatic Club.  Miriam Saint Warner sings at chapel services.

The editorial board of the Dickinsonian publishes an open letter to the Board of Deans regarding the findings of a report conducted by the Faculty committee on Extra-Curricular Activities.  The Debating Association of Pennsylvania Colleges selects three topics for the coming debate season, with delegates from Dickinson making key contributions.  Charlis Alvin Jones, graduate of Dickinson Law School and democratic candidate for the office of governor of Pennsylvania, visits Dickinson for the annual Homecoming football game.  The Student Library Committee submitted req

Young People's Fellowship accepted to the Student Christian Association of the Middle Atlantics Region. Hester Cunningham '29 featured in art exhibition over Commencement Weekend. Faculty approve changes to Social Rules for women, extending curfews and extended permissions. John Shumaker to head All-College Social Committee. Year's social events highlighted. The Dickinson Follies draws crowd of 1,000 to first variety show. Nine members of the Little Theater tapped for Tau Delta Pi dramatic honor society.
