Arrangements for the contests in oratory and declamation for members of the Junior, Sophomore, and Freshman classes have been completed by the faculty members in charge - Several awards will be given. Mrs. Mabel W. Willebrandt has been chosen to deliver the Commencement address this year. Discussion of well-received lecture in chapel given by Dr. F. D. Losey on "Macbeth." Glee Club will give a concert at the Allison Methodist Church. Article shedding light on college student suicides.

Dickinsonian, April 14, 1927

Raymond R. Brewer, Dickinson's representative at West China's Union University, will revisit the College. Fourteen graduates of the College were in China amidst civil unrest, but were able to leave without danger. Taylor and P.E. Smith earned first place medals in the two cross country races held for the T. Marshall West Awards. Women's Glee Club holds a rally in the Metzger Hall gymnasium. Details regarding the Senior Class Ball to be held on May 14. Ten Freshmen were punished by the Student Tribunal.

Fred E. Sweely elected captain of the Men's Basketball team for next year. Dr. Frederick D. Losey of New York City will discuss the play "Macbeth" and give a dramatic reading of it during an upcoming chapel meeting. Professor Edwin Edgar Voigt of Garrett Biblical Institute in Evanston, Illinois, to discuss "Fundamental Things in Religion" at an upcoming chapel meeting. Miss Anne Bennet '25 elected Secretary of the New Jersey district of the American Association of University Women. Members of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference move to abolish all athletic scholarships.

The Glee Club prepares for this season's first long tour, traveling to Virginia and and West Virginia. The Senate voted to become a member of the National Student Federation of the United States of America. Three Dickinsonians will participate this summer in the orchestra group, the Dickinson Ramblers' tour around the world on a tour ship.

Rohrbaugh just completed a book to be published entitled, "The Science of Religion." Dickinson Men's Basketball finishes their season win a victory over Gettysburg. The Dickinsonian student staff interviews Professor Leon C. Prince on modern student problems.

Dickinsonian, March 3, 1927

Leader of the British Youth movement, Harold F. Bing will discuss "The World Challenges to Youth" at the next Y.M.C.A. meeting. Dickinson Men's Basketball wins against Gettysburg. Men's Football defeats the Pennsylvania State team. Thirty-nine consecutive victories counted for the Men's Basketball team (Over a period of six and a half years).

The Women's Basketball team wins against Shippensburg. Degree of Master of Arts will be discontinued at Dickinson College after June 1927 - Only the degrees of Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Philosophy will be given. Dean Meredith traveled to New York to address the New York Alumnae Club on "Opportunities for the Advancement of Scholarship for Women." An anonymous Freshman female writes on the First-Years' attitude toward upperclassmen.

News report on a soldier from the Army Barracks, John Thomas Davies entered a Dickinson dormitory at night. $1000 donation given to the College by T.F. Miller. Possibility of a new gym being built materializes when a model is created and put on display in the library. The library adds 500 books to its collection in four months time.
