Dickinsonian, April 1886

The challenge of combining and cataloging the society libraries is discussed.  The Ramblers' Walking Club is the latest craze at Dickinson.  The Sophomore Oratorical Contest is planned.  The recently formed Pennsylvania Inter-Collegiate Baseball Association is disbanded due to a lack of interested schools.  The Union Philosophical Society holds their anniversary, and the Baltimore Alumni Association holds a reunion.

Dickinsonian, January 1886

Plans for an inter-society debate are taking shape.  Calls for a song about Dickinson are published.  Inter-class baseball games are planned between the Seniors, Juniors, and Freshmen.  The Bosler Memorial Library Hall is almost finished, and in the wake of its opening the societies discuss aggregating their holdings into one.  The alumni record of the college is about to be published, much to the satisfaction of all.

Two Dickinson students and the Dean of Men Mervin Grant Filler attend a conference at Yale University on the American student.Try outs for the baseball team begin. Fifty students have already secured summer employment in various industries. The Interfraternity Council purchases a silver cup to be awarded to the fraternity that achieves the highest scholastic average for the school year. The basketball team wins over Mt. St. Mary's College 48 to 23, closing their third successive season without losing a home game. The Dickinson in China fundraiser has raised $1400 of its $2000 goal.

Dickinsonian, November 7, 1985

The library and computer center have been designing a library cataloging program, AUTOCAT, since 1982 and will be ready for use next year. Gamma Phi Beta sorority received their second President's Cup at Homecoming. The annual event, Songfest, was presented by Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) and Wheel and Chain and drew a huge crowd to ATS. An article focuses on the many roles and jobs of campus Resident Advisors. The Men's Cross Country team will participate in the Middle Atlantic Conference's invitational meet.

Nominees for Spring Formal Queen are announced, Alpha Psi Omega admits six new members. Men's Glee Club to present its annual Spring Concert. The next Religion in Life Week is planned for November 13th to 17th. Faculty protests arms tests. Radio station is approved after ten years of discussion. Library receives three collections of historically important materials. Follies selects new officers. Omicron Delta Kappa admits two students and one professor. The Belles Lettres Society combines The Hornbook and The Literary Bulletin. Five plays to be presented by freshmen.
