Five of Dickinson's trustees have died within the past twelve months, the most recent being Jacob Tome.  James Russell Lowell is to be honored through a plan to construct Lowell Memorial Park.  The eighth annual Inter-Society Debate between the Union Philosophical and Belles Lettres literary societies occurs.  The Athletic Association defrays the expenses of the "base-ball" and track teams.

The college celebrates the birthday of George Washington as well as the 109th anniversary of the Union Philosophical Literary Society.  An alumni banquet takes place in Baltimore, Maryland.  The Gamma Epsilon Literary Society celebrates its annual banquet.

A letter from the bedridden President Reed's is published, updating the college on the president's condition.  Bleachers to be erected at the Athletic Field.  The editors suggest that a book review be added to the weekly programs of the literary societies.  The Union Philosophical Society elects new officers.  Students participate in a minstrel show at the Opera House.

Annual freshman banquet is held.  Students praise a "resurrected" Dickinson, with many improvements being made by the new administration that drastically improves Dickinson's future outlook.  Chi Phi is officially declared extinct.
