College committees planning many events for the Christmas season. Basketball team starts successfully with a string of wins, including one over the City College of New York, the previous year's champions. College receives several historical documents pertaining to 1843 graduate Robert Alexander Lamberton as well as a number of college catalogs dating back to the same era. Upcoming football season to feature four new opponents.
Professors Morris W. Prince and John F. Mohler join the faculty. The YWCA and YMCA hold a reception to welcome the new students. Separate Weekly Dickinsonian and monthly Dickinsonian publications planned for the year. New Bible study courses announced. The freshmen elect officers, adopt a constitution, and chose their colors. From The Indian Helper comes news of $2,000 worth of damage from a recent storm and the results of a recent census of students at the Carlisle Indian School.
The football team opens their season with a game against Lebanon Valley ending in a 6-6 tie. Dickinson has been chosen to hold the twenty-first annual Student Volunteer conference of the colleges and seminaries of Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Revisions are made to the plan for first year / fraternity interacting to require that each fraternity send 1-3 representatives to every other fraternity on their night for entertainment. Both the Christian Fellowship Group and the French Club receive their largest attendance ever this year.
This week's issue of the Dickinsonian announces the elections of F. B. Giebel as president of the freshman class and Christopher P. Crook to the sophomore class. Football practice begins early in an effort to continue the path of last season's success. A committee of the Interfraternity Council presents their ideas for freshman involvement. In previous years, rushing agreements prohibited fraternity members to communicate with first year men; leading to a feeling of isolation from the rest of the campus.

The All-College Social Committee announces plans for the Founders' Day celebration, to include two athletic events and a play produced by the Greek Club, among other things. Pi Beta Phi, as a part of the Pan Hellenic Council's lecture series, hosts a lecture on health featuring Dr. E H Matzke, a female doctor from Philadelphia. Five junior students will take part in an oratorical contest for the Pierson Prize. The YWCA elects a new cabinet. Twelve students will attend the General Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, to be held in Springfield, MA.
Professor Leon C. Prince loses the race for the Republican party's congressional nomination. The joint senate committee produces a tentative constitution for their new joint student senate. Dickinson hosts a field day for 600 Cumberland county public school students. Two female students will attend a national conference of the YWCA. The French Club announces that it will produce two plays in May on the life of the French people.The track team suffers its first defeat in three years, losing the Haverford 67 to 59.
It is announced that the college band will accompany the football team to their game against Delaware. Plans are laid out for a college-wide observance of Armistice Day. Preparations are made for the upcoming debate season, to include debates with four other institutions. A feature on boat travel in China appears. Dickinson becomes a member of the American Association of University Women. The Carlisle Civic Club and YWCA announce plans for a flag sale fundraiser to provide aid to Armenia.
Presidential candidate, William D. Upshaw, speaks to student body in Bosler Hall. The Debate Team, to begin try-outs shortly, has gotten the topics to be debated this season from Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Debating Association. The Board approved the purchase of the Mooreland Estate. The English Department has decided to support the publication of a student literary magazine. Governor Gifford Pinchot decides to celebrate the 200th anniversary of John Dickinson's birth on November 8th.
The men's and women's glee club put on their first combined performance since 1925. The old Phi Delta Theta house will be turned into a psychology lab. The radio transmitter built by Dickinson students is fully operational and reaches several other radio stations in the eastern half of the United States. The radio station may be used by students whenever the studio is open. Student Senate cuts some funding for all campus organizations except the band, orchestra and the Dickinsonian.
Work begins on the new Phi Delta Theta colonial house. Distribution and sale of the 1932 Microcosm will take place in Bosler starting next week. Senate approves the 1931-1932 budget and passes two new rules involving elections. Founder's Day breakfast will be held by YWCA. The freshman badges for next year will be metal instead of paste-board cards.
