The approaching end of the Pan Hellenic week will feature the annual Doll Dance. A talk open to members of the Mary Dickinson Club and women students will be given by Dorothy Kenyon, speaker for the Mary Dickinson Day Chapel, titled "Women and Outer Space." Following incidents dubbed the "Egg Battle" - during which several men raided rival fraternity houses, threw eggs at the outside of the women's dorm and shouted "uncomplimentary expressions" - eleven men have turned themselves and been penalized by the Senate-Faculty Judiciary Committee.

This issue is very concerned with the campus Flu Epidemic, in spite of a statement from college physician Dr. Edward S. Kronenberg that the virus was on the wane. Actor Emlyn Williams will appear at Bosler Hall in the second event of the cultural affairs series, "A Boy Grows Up"- a performance about the poet Dylan Thomas. The local building company Mowery & Sons (currently in the process of building the Allison Memorial Church) will construct the new Althouse Science building. The Dickinson College Religious Affairs Council, organized last year, will now hold regular meetings.

The incoming freshmen made Dickinson history as the largest class ever- 310 freshmen matriculated after 1400 applications, coming from 15 states and 9 countries. Thirty new faculty members have joined Dickinson including Dean of Men Alan Coutts, college chaplain Reverend Mr. J. Artley, and professors in the Departments of Biology, Geology, Economics, History, English, Mathematics, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Physics, Psychology, ROTC, and Sociology.

A discussion on Dickinson's Honor Code will be sponsored by Danforth and Omicron Delta Kappa. All sororities and some fraternities are to hold Christmas parties for the underprivileged children of Carlisle. The Dickinson College Choir will be filmed performing in Harrisburg and broadcast on WHP TV.

The first issue of the 1959-60 school year includes articles on the members of the class of 1963 moving in and receiving orientation. Barbara Stevens is appointed the new Dean of Women, and she changes the curfew hours for female students. Nineteen new faculty members are announced. Dr. James Leslie leads the Danforth Experiment at Dickinson. Panhellenic Council sponsors a Panhellenic Weekend. Faculty in Psychology and Biology receive grants.
