Halloween Masquerade Carnival to raise money for the band is to be held.  The Music department to hold its annual concert.  Philadelphia Club initiates its new members.  The Geology class, under the direction of Dr. and Mrs. Mohler, take a field trip to Boiling Springs.  Sophomores take trip to Mt. Holly.

The process of competing for membership on The Dickinsonian board is explained, and the types of submissions wanted are described.  Training in oratory is lauded.   Participation in YMCA is encouraged.  The editors respond to the Lutheran Church's condemnation of college's "senseless infatuation for so brutal a species of sport," football.  Phi Kappa Psi takes their annual fraternity ride to Mount Holly Springs and Boiling Springs.  Sigma Alpha Epsilon visit the Gettysburg battlefield.  Deans and officers of the classes are selected.  Dr.

Judge Hinkley of Danville, Pa. and Dr. J.D. Fox, a pastor in Trenton, N.J., prepare to address the student body.  The National Biscuit Company demonstrates to the chant of "We Want a Biscuit at Halbert's Tonight."  The Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity takes a tally-ho ride to Boiling Springs to forage for chestnuts.

Debate between Dickinson and State College is held, and State College wins. Delta Chi banquet is held. The female glee club of Kee Mar College gives a concert at the Carlisle Opera House. Phi Kappa Sigma takes a trolley ride to Boiling Springs. A performance is given by the American Association for the Education of the Blind in Bosler Hall by blind students. The Union Philosophical Society elects officers. Phi Delta Theta hosts a trolley ride to Boiling Springs, the Indian School, and the Cave.

Dickinsonian, September 29, 1923

Plans for the all-college picnic in Boiling Springs are announced. The Interfraternity Council determines the rushing periods for the 1923 fall semester and institutes the payment of yearly dues by each member fraternity. Dickinson opens their football preseason with "the strongest team in the country to date on paper." Plans to establish a college sports news service are laid. A piece on the Christianization and Americanization of Hawiian islanders appears.

Dickinson College is to be represented in the American Association of University Women's Founders' Book.  The Union Philosophical Society and Belles Lettres Society continue their  "stunt" of selective rushing.  Professor Benjamin Wilbur Folsom takes charge of the Dickinson Debate Council.  Studies on student ill-adjustment to higher education are made by the Joint Committee of the Association of Pennsylvania Presidents, the Pennsylvania State Department of Public Instruction, and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.  The student body enjoys thei
