Dickinsonian, October 6, 1909

Freshmen successfully post their posters on the tower of old West College.  Faculty Club holds first meeting.  Freshmen hold a feed.  Freshmen girls host a reception.  The Law School opens with one of its largest classes ever.  Alumni honor Dr. Reed.  Professor Super's paper on President Durbin is continuted from the previous week.

Omega Psi hold their annual reception and Phi Kappa Psi holds a dance.  The Dickinsonian reports on a bill that would create a state and industrial school for African Americans.  The construction of the Molly Pitcher monument is discussed. Alpha Chi Rho is installed at Dickinson.  The Sophomore and Freshmen class have a large fight in front of West College.

John Paul Davis is elected captain of the football team for the 1905 season. The Y.M.C.A attends the district convention.  Construction continues on Denny Hall and a new brick walk way is laid between West College and East College.  Delta Chi holds their fall banquet.

Judge E. W. Biddle gives a lecture at the Dickinson School of Law. Trustees of the J. Herman Bosler Memorial Library determine their committee members. Because of an unusual demand, the Board of Trustees is forced to give more money in student loans. Dickinson graduates are elected to state offices. Skull and Key holds its annual winter formal. Dickinson loses to Franklin and Marshall in basketball. The Dickinsonian elects a new editor-in-chief. The Dickinson School of Law is elected as a member of the Association of American Law Schools. The Young People’s Fellowship begins panels to discuss popular issues, the first of which is “What is wrong with the movies?” The Athletic Association will elect officers on Monday.
