Dickinson wins in a football game against Swarthmore. Local Dickinson alumni organize a new athletics association to offer more support to the athletics on campus. A tribute to Abraham Lincoln is given fifty years after the Gettysburg Address. Senate proceedings reported new rules, one of which asks the faculty to extend Thanksgiving Vacation.
Dickinson wins its last home football game against Lebanon Valley. The Beta Theta Pi fraternity held a gathering in their chapter house in honor of Professor and Mrs. George F. Cole. The sophomore class elects a new president. The Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity holds their first “at home” of the year.
The Dickinson football team defeats Gettysburg 39-13. Robert W. Lyman becomes a new member of the Law School. The Phi Kappa Psi fraternity holds its annual fall dance. The Schuylkill County Club is formed.
The Dickinson Football team lost the first game of the season to Washington and Jefferson in Washington, PA. Dr. Super addresses the freshman class about the importance of ideas passed down through literature. The 1917 class elects their officers.

Robert W. Rogers, Bradford O. M'Intyre, and Willard G. Lake become Dickinson professors. William Trickett is the new Law School dean. Professor Rittenhouse's former rooms in West College are converted into student rooms. Patton, '92, is elected football captain. An inaugural ceremony is held for the Dickinson School of Law.
The literary societies and Intercollegiate Debating Team hold tryouts. The football team ends its season with a 20-6 loss to Bucknell, after a 35-7 win over Delaware; the team's final record is 4-4-1. Fraternity rush begins.
A vote on the pertinence of the College honor system is proposed. Irishman Seumas McManus addresses the chapel, speaking on his experience as a student of a rural schoolhouse and eventually a large university. The football team ties Haverford 7-7, the same score that the two teams achieved in their game one year prior (to the day).
The 1920 Christmas Seal is released, with all proceeds from its sale going towards charities aiming to eradicate tuberculosis. The football team defeats Gettysburg 7-0.
A three-day dramatic festival officially gets underway, with pledge cards and ticket requests distributed to the student body. The football team, despite enormous support, loses to Gettysburg 7-0.
The Greek Club officially forms as the Drama Club elects new officers. The football team loses to Ursinus 7-6.
Two new organizations--one for those interested in ministry careers, and another for students of Greek--are proposed. The football team defeats Allegheny 7-0 in a packed away game.
The 19th amendment is passed and female students are encouraged to get involved in politics. Student Senate adds a no-hazing rule to the College Handbook. Conway Hall opens for student residence. The football team loses its season opener 6-0 to Albright.
The Academic Planning and Standards Committee changes the wording on Dickinson diplomas for the first time since 1879. They now acknowledge women graduates as alumna instead of alumnus and state that the student has graduated with a degree in liberal arts and sciences as opposed to just philosophy. The DPS safety walk is a success and many parts on and around campus are recognized as needing more adequate lighting. A recent Peace Corps recruitment session attracts a record-breaking number of students not only for Dickinson but for Central Pennsylvania more generally as well.
The room draw system is updated to an online program, eliminating the horrors of the HUB housing lottery. DPS Officer Charles Weekley is dismissed from his position after supposedly lying about abandoning a pet of a faculty member. The Mermaid Players and the Dickinson Department of Theater and Dance present the fall theatrical production "Urinetown." Football defeats Franklin and Marshall and retains the prized Conestoga Wagon Trophy, a symbol of the rivalry between the two schools.
Dickinson Dining Services refutes the rumor that they put laxatives in their food as doing so would cause major issues with the state. As a response to Penn State's regulation of Greek parties, Dickinson's Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils consider such reforms as registering parties to prevent run-ins with public safety or the police. The First in America campaign makes its off-campus debut, beginning with its Philadelphia launch. Dickinson participates in the nationwide "Up 'til Dawn" campaign to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The prep school boys continue to use up all the hot water in the gym, leaving none for the college athletes. The Glee Club continues to practice for its performances this year. Lyman Abbott writes a column about the issue of unqualified professors holding positions in the college. This year the Junior class will return to the tradition of publishing the yearly annual. The athletes of the school are encouraged to use the gymnasium facilities to inspire some friendly competition among themselves. The Belles Lettres Society and the Union Philosophical Society each elect new officers.
Students are encouraged to participate regularly in class meetings and events. The two literary societies on campus competed for new members from the Freshmen class. A University of Pennsylvania student supports coeducational institutions. The Glee Club has become a permanent group on campus and has begun practicing for the season. A column urges the women of the college to ignore the harsh comments of the men and continue to strive for academic and social excellence.
The Athletic Association constructs a new constitution that allows it to hold property and protects its rights and privileges. Over the summer there were several improvements made to the college buildings and grounds. Students are urged to patronize those businesses that advertise in The Dickinsonian. This year’s freshman class includes seven women. The Belles Lettres Society, the Union Philosophical Society, the freshman class elect officers. An article defends the merits of American football and talks about this year’s football team.
Dickinson is represented at a YMCA Convention in Allentown. The Glee Club begins planning for concerts.
The Dickinsonian staff is given use of their own room. Football becomes popular on campus, and hopes for great success this year abound. Tennis also becomes a key sport. The various fraternities on campus welcome new members.
Tensions rise between Dickinson fraternity members and the Carlisle Police Department, with the Sentinel defending Dickinson's students. Criticism is levied on students for their behavior during chapel when a visitor is present. The co-eds in the school are criticized for hazing other students. Dickinson loses to Swarthmore 6-22 in football. Mud-slinging between Dickinson and Lafayette continues, and Lehigh also begins criticizing Dickinson's football team.
