Students and faculty clash over the quality of lighting on campus and its effect on campus safety. WDCV increases its wattage from 10 to over 100, allowing the station to be heard as far as Harrisburg. A series of articles presenting various sides of the abortion debate appears. Students attend the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada.

A student assaults a fellow student late at night in the house of his ex girlfriend. He is arrested and and suspended from campus until further notice. Student Senate completely cuts funding for single-sex organizations on campus as per a previously unenforced bylaw. Delta Sigma Theta, a historically prominently black sorority, earns a charter from Dickinson College. The Sigma Phi chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity is nominated for ten national awards. Two members of the baseball team are named to the Centennial Conference Team for their achievements during the season.

A participant in an Emcee Battle at the Depot shoots at students after they tried to leave the event before his group performed. For the third year, Dickinson prepares for U-Turn, a campus collection and yard sale benefiting United Way. Dance Theatre Group prepares for its fresh student choreographed concert. The Keystones hold a car bash to raise money for Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD). The Senior Gift Drive already nears its goal. The Women's Lacrosse and Softball teams continue on impressive win streaks and look toward the post season.

Extreme propaganda posters are hung up in residence halls warning against being trusting of suspicious persons after a 44 year-old man was caught trespassing in Baird-McClintock. The online room-draw system is put on hold for another year until all the glitches have been worked out, sending student back into the Social Hall for the housing lottery one last time. The Women's Basketball team continues their post-season, moving up in the conference to hold second place.

The illegal distribution and sale of prescription drugs such as Adderall and Ritalin becomes very present on campus. A tuition increase for the 2007-2008 school year is announced, much to the dismay of students though it seems that they understand the reasons behind the increases. Although it meets the national and state safety requirements, Kaufman Hall still contains levels of toxins too high for Dickinson standards which will be handled over winter break. Pulitzer Prize winner Rita Dove comes to Dickinson as the recipient of the 2006 Stellfox Award.

The Academic Planning and Standards Committee changes the wording on Dickinson diplomas for the first time since 1879. They now acknowledge women graduates as alumna instead of alumnus and state that the student has graduated with a degree in liberal arts and sciences as opposed to just philosophy. The DPS safety walk is a success and many parts on and around campus are recognized as needing more adequate lighting. A recent Peace Corps recruitment session attracts a record-breaking number of students not only for Dickinson but for Central Pennsylvania more generally as well.

Dickinson is named the most fit college by Men's Fitness Magazine. The Department of Public Safety holds a "safety walk" open to the entire campus. This event will allow students to voice their opinions regarding ways in which the campus could be safer. This is the first time students have been given the opportunity to express their ideas about campus safety. The Men's Lacrosse Team holds a Volleyball-A-Thon on the new sand volleyball court to raise money for the Red Cross.

A large number of fires during the winter prompts students to request the installation of fire escapes in the buildings.  The gymnasium is now opened.  President Grover Cleveland writes to the editors of the Dickinsonian. 

According to research of Vassar professor, Benjamin Rush was forerunner to French in system of autosuggestion. Basketball team defeats Penn, breaking their six game winning streak. Extension Board to run annual campaign for funds to support continuing work in China. Thieves rob Theta Chi fraternity over winter holiday. Dramatic Club performs first of a series of programs planned for the remainder of the year. Spotlight on Raymond R. Brewer, representative of the College in China. Phi Beta Kappa honor society to celebrate anniversary in 1926. Faculty delays vote on honor code, unlikely to go into effect for mid-years; students voice opinions on the code. Student Senate holds student body referendum in ATS to discuss the Select Committee Report on Greek Life. Dickinson College Children's Center is established. Student Senate stops delegation on the election of officers until the following academic year, focusing instead on the budget and changes to the freshman rules. Religious leader and author Henry Emerson Fosdick is announced as the commencement speaker. The first all-student art exhibit is set to open. Skull and Key taps nine men for the 1948-1949 school year. The thief who ransacked the women's dormitory in East College was captured in Maryland.

Due to a tragic accident at the crosswalk between the Holland Union Building and the Academic Quad, safety flags stations will be constructed to prevent further accidents. The class of 2006 says goodbye to Dickinson and hears Judge John Jones '77 at commencement. Sigma Chi, a recently expelled fraternity, sues the college. After a forty-year hiatus, the D-Book makes its return. The women's lacrosse team ends with the best record in the team's history and becomes the first Dickinson women's lacrosse team to win an NCAA tournament game.

Public Safety increases security in response to recent cases of assault and trespassing on and near campus.
