Professors Morris W. Prince and John F. Mohler join the faculty. The YWCA and YMCA hold a reception to welcome the new students. Separate Weekly Dickinsonian and monthly Dickinsonian publications planned for the year. New Bible study courses announced. The freshmen elect officers, adopt a constitution, and chose their colors. The track team defeats Lehigh 71 to 55 in its opening match of the season. The Freshman baseball team defeats the Sophomores, thus revoking the "girl rule." Belles Lettres defeats UPS in the groups' intersociety informal debate and speech contest. Small improvements are made to college buildings, including painting and landscaping. Dickinson faculty compile a reading list of 50 influential and interesting books.The 1925 Microcosm yearbook is copyrighted. The Press Club reorganizes with intention to be active during the next academic year.

A new German professor is hired. Skull and Key taps members for next year. The Men’s Glee Club sings at Carlisle High School. The Dickinson band elects new officers for next year. A column relates the German Nazis Party’s failings to change the colors of mail boxes and postal vehicles. The College Orchestra plays at Carlisle High School. The college begins to transition to the O.D.K. proposal for a new student government.

The basketball team wins in a game against Gettysburg. A German exchange student states his opinions of the college. Dr. Phillips Packer Elliott is to lead the Dickinson Week of Prayer. Five members of the faculty play in a basketball game. Omicron Delta Kappa presents a plan to form a new central Student Senate to take on the duties of the current senate. The Women’s Glee club will perform for the American Association of University Women. The Dickinson P.A.C.S. cabinet reports its student appointees, and supports a petition for student absentee voting in Pennsylvania elections.

The Dickinson faculty are listed along with their C.V.s.  F. E. Craver denies the Carnegie Foundation's accusation that Dickinson subsidizes athletes beyond tuition costs.  Homecoming Weekend. 

The incoming freshmen made Dickinson history as the largest class ever- 310 freshmen matriculated after 1400 applications, coming from 15 states and 9 countries. Thirty new faculty members have joined Dickinson including Dean of Men Alan Coutts, college chaplain Reverend Mr. J. Artley, and professors in the Departments of Biology, Geology, Economics, History, English, Mathematics, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Physics, Psychology, ROTC, and Sociology.

Approximately 19 new faculty members were added (either permanently or temporarily) to the departments of Chemistry, English, Physics, Economics, German, French, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy and Psychology. German Honor Society Delta Phi Alpha taps 8 students.

The Class of 1948, the largest class in college history with 200 students, graduates. Four new faculty members, three professors of English and one professor of philosophy and religion, are hired for the fall semester. No Microcosm yearbook is published this year due to lack of funds. Phi Beta Kappa inducts 12 seniors. A retrospective of the events of the year appears, as does a tribute to prominent graduating senior students.

Careless attitudes about alcohol and sex make men and women victims. College responds to rape with support and education. Needs assessment project examines Carlisle community problems. Students respond to professors survey. Concert Committee drags Violent Femmes from the '80s. Congressman Bill Goodling battles federal work-study service program. Career center scrambles to alleviate problems caused by mail fraud. DTG's E-Motion hits the mark. Lab Theater Shows spring into action. 1993 Weiss Prize winners shine in "Rasselas, Prince of Abyssinia".

In this issue "The Dickinsonian" addresses the present tenure system and its unpopularity amongst faculty. New College Chaplain, John S. Reist Jr. has redefined the role of the chaplain to the College and the community. An article discusses whether or not unborn children have rights and asks for student's opinions. Bill Koltnow, amateur boxer, formed the school's first Boxing Club. The soccer and football teams have positive outlooks for the season.

Trustees appoint nine new faculty. The college chooses two graduate students for the new internship in student personnel. Two Freshmen Colloquiums investigate environmental problems. Eighteen Carlisle High School students will join the National Science Foundation funded LeTort Creek pollution project. Prof. H. Wade Seaford receives a Doctorate of Philosophy from Harvard University for his work on the effects of environment upon facial expression. Prof. William A. Harms receives a Doctorate of comparative literature from Indiana University.
