State police investigate fraternity vandalism. English poet Gavin Ewart reads his poetry in a presentation in Memorial Hall. Golf Team remains undefeated. Bill Koltnow receives national collegiate boxing title.

The Dickinsonian holds an exam to select new editorial staff members for the following academic year. Plans for the senior party and a picnic are laid out, as well as a tentative date for Class Day. Twenty-seven members of Dickinson's chapter of the Pi Beta Phi sorority are hosted at a reception in the White House by First Lady Grace Coolidge, herself a Pi Phi. The Women's Student Senate sentences eight freshman girls to clean classrooms in Denny as punishment for rules violations.

The Board of Trustees organize several series of lectures on cultural and educational topics for the Dickinson and Carlisle community. They will cover "The Makers of Europe" and "Studies of Great Men." The Sigma Chi fraternity announces at the Interfraternity Council its intent to hold a contest of both scholarship and intramural sports for fraternities to participate in. The Dramatic Club will present several one act plays during Friday chapel in addition to their usual major productions.

The Pew Memorial Trust is source of a recent grant that the College secured to help expand the College's computer system. The Panhellenic Council met last week to approve the formation of a fifth sorority. Boxers Ron Sing and Larry Russo will compete in the Eastern Conference Boxing Championship. In the Middle Atlantic Conference championship, the men's swim team took third place and the women's swim team took seventh. Oscar Leon wins a title in a table tennis tournament.

In this issue, the Congress of African American Students met with President Banks to discuss the College's lack of minority students and ask him to consider recruiting more. The College claims that "minority" students receive no special preferences when they are being considered for financial aid, rather it is assigned based on family income. A resolution was passed that allowed Professor Dennis Klinge to obtain tenure after previously being rejected. The College Boxing team won their fights in a recent event.

In this issue "The Dickinsonian" addresses the present tenure system and its unpopularity amongst faculty. New College Chaplain, John S. Reist Jr. has redefined the role of the chaplain to the College and the community. An article discusses whether or not unborn children have rights and asks for student's opinions. Bill Koltnow, amateur boxer, formed the school's first Boxing Club. The soccer and football teams have positive outlooks for the season.

In this edition, a new gymnasium is going to be built, whereas the Arts center, badly in need of renovations or a new location, will not be receiving either. The Student Affairs Committee's proposal for coed alternative housing received tremendous disapproval by the Board of Trustees. Ellen Schmeding was elected as manager of the Hermitage coffeehouse in Adams basement by the ABC Steering Committee. The Class of 1928 plans its 50th celebration. The Track Team has a successful start to the season. Bill Koltnow won the National Collegiate Boxing Association Championship in Reno, Nevada.

Proposals for changes in academic procedures - including the add-drop period and the auditing policy - reported to Senate. Judith LaBarre elected as 1972's Dickinsonian Editor-in-Chief.
