Fall Fest was once again a success in the community. Spanish and Italian Professor Grace Jarvis was one of 25 educators chosen in a national competition to spend six weeks studying Italian culture. New escort programs were created for students by students, such as The Dickinson Student Watch Organization, Phi Beta Escort Service and the EFFORT Escort Service. The Cross Country team lost its undefeated streak. Women's soccer won an important game against Lehigh, which evened out their record.

A recent assault makes the College reevaluate its campus security. The College's radio station, WDCV has increased their wattage for broadcast-power, which led to a change in programming. The College added a new assistant director of alumni relations, Ann Hess Meyers, to bring in some new ideas. Hypnotist James Mapes stuns and surprises students with his performance at the College. A women's weightlifting class has now been offered and is led by a female sophomore student.

Former college student Scott W. Sinning, '87, is suing campus administrators, the Alpha Chi Rho fraternity, the Borough of Carlisle, Carlisle Chief of Police Frank Giordano, and two Carlisle Police Officers after being shot in the right eye by a pellet gun. Students that took part in the Malaga, Spain program have brought forth complaints about the program. Men and Women's Swim Team continues to set records during the season.

A memorial service was held for students Christine Allison Major, who died of cancer and John Joseph Buonocore, who was killed by terrorists in Rome. Both passed away over Christmas break. At a recent College faculty meeting, it was unanimously resolved to establish a system to evaluate the faculty tenure system after six years and goes into effect this year. According to a survey, the majority of students on campus do not feel safe and called for a larger police staff at night. The Interfraternity Council is reviewing and improving the way fraternities are portrayed on campus, and discuss the possibility of a "dry rush." Women's Field Hockey is improving, despite their previous record.

Starting this year, the College will make every entering freshman enroll in a freshman seminar program. The Campus Entertainment Board convened for the first time with the purpose of to coordinate and promote extra-curricular events and entertainment.
